Description

Lore and Description:

SPEAR X4M is a modified version of the original SPEAR X4 electromagnetic rifle. Whilst the original version was a finely crafted weapon for wealthy individuals, utilizing a sleek carbon fibre and brushed metal design, the "M" version is a more rugged iteration intended for armed forces use. Apart from switching the materials to more durable and less expensive steel and plastic (with some titanium elements), several modifications were also made regarding the ergonomics of the weapon. The fire selector was moved to a more convenient position above the trigger, the stock is now adjustable and a standardized set of Picatinny rails was added to the top and bottom (the top set is powered by the weapon's internal battery, allowing for powered optical devices to be used without requiring their own battery). A carry handle was also added to the top.

The weapon fires metal flechettes accelerated by a set of electromagnetic coils to respectable speeds. The energy is supplied by a replaceable battery mounted behind the pistol grip while the ammunition is fed from a top-mounted magazine which slides under the top accessory rail. A variable zoom optics mounted to this particular example makes it suitable for a marksman rifle role, although the weapon can also fire in a fully automatic mode.
