More like Sino-Soviet. It is an alternative timeline, where WW I lasted longer and was bloddier. The USSR formed similar, though absorbed large parts of China in the Formation. There was no WW II but in the 1970s there was a major incident called Scarlet Revolution in which all European nations turned red / were turned red, not clear by now in the comic what really happened, and became allies of the so called Odessa Pact. And now here in the Comic it is 1997 and they just started WW II.
