This is a piece i just made for a show at world of wonder art gallery ( link ) in Hollywood CA. The show was titled "just britney"Doing a piece about britney spears is a bit out of my normal realm...but i gave it a shot.
I was trying to play around with the idea of sex symbols in different cultures. The 2 figures with the britney doll are called ashanti or aquaba dolls. My understanding is that they are fertility dolls that serve different purposes among a variety of african cultures. In addition to being fertility dolls I’ve read that they are also used as tools to teach young girls how to care for infants. Something to think about.

It was a photo. And there was a painting of Britney in a Trucker cap holding a cigarette as well.

It was featured on a Hollywood spot with Nelson Aspen. On a show called SUNRISE, Nelson talked about the Exhibition of Artwork inspired by Britney Spears.
