Description Part 2: [link]

Alright! Here's the first part of my Toothless plush tutorial! I'm already working on part 4 of the tutorial, so it's gonna be a big one. But it covers every step you need to make a Toothless plush! You're welcome to make some modifications to it if you want, as long as you give me credit for the base pattern.

This part only covers materials and how to piece the pattern pieces together. The links to the pattern pieces will be provided with each part of the tutorial as they are needed.

I was really looking forward to making this plush and bought all the bits and pieces for it, but I've reached the point of having cut my stuff out and none of the instructions make an ounce of sense to me. Not to mention it's fairly useless for anyone who doesn't have a sewing machine. Pretty bloody depressing, to say the least.

Maybe I'm just too thick.

has anyone noticed why the official plushies are a blue-ish color, but the real toothless is black?

A question about the pattern, i printed it out as is and the upper head pieces don't line up. Part A is is thinner than part B. Is this normal? Should i slightly make alterations so they line up perfectly?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

nooby-banana In reply to ApplesforAnna [2012-06-17 02:55:52 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean "thinner"?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ApplesforAnna In reply to nooby-banana [2012-06-17 16:27:22 +0000 UTC]

Sorry about that. The part labeled A and B on the pieces don't line up. The width of the "tape here" section of part A is smaller than the width of part B. I hope that makes more sense.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nooby-banana In reply to ApplesforAnna [2012-06-21 06:21:42 +0000 UTC]

Are you sure you're lining up the correct pieces? They should line up pretty well.:\

Midsummerblue In reply to nooby-banana [2014-06-04 17:58:15 +0000 UTC]

I am having the same problem. I'm not sure what I should do. Should I cut the little tab off so the pieces line up correctly? Or do I need the tab for something?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Cleorion In reply to nooby-banana [2012-07-18 23:16:29 +0000 UTC]

As it turns out, I have the exact same problem. Both pieces of the upper head are on the same page. However, as ApplesforAnna said, they do not line up in that Upper Head B is wider than Upper Head A. B has an awkward "tab" where the label "B" is written in its corner. Please advise. Thank you.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

ApplesforAnna In reply to nooby-banana [2012-06-21 15:18:51 +0000 UTC]

Then i have no idea what i'm doing wrong. Thank you for the assistance though. I'm sure i'll figure this out eventually.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Cleorion In reply to ApplesforAnna [2012-07-18 18:02:20 +0000 UTC]

There is a setting when one prints that can shrink what you're printing; it can be a check box or one that you enter a numerical percentage; perhaps it was checked on one of the printing. I had to uncheck mine and they are printing now. I expect everything to line up. HTH
