Description Part 2: [link]

Alright! Here's the first part of my Toothless plush tutorial! I'm already working on part 4 of the tutorial, so it's gonna be a big one. But it covers every step you need to make a Toothless plush! You're welcome to make some modifications to it if you want, as long as you give me credit for the base pattern.

This part only covers materials and how to piece the pattern pieces together. The links to the pattern pieces will be provided with each part of the tutorial as they are needed.

Lol! I was skimming tutorials and passed this one by because I thought the picture at the beginning was the final product.
Actually I must say this is probably the best tutorial and I shall use this one!

I'll be making one of these when I have enough fabric. First one will be regular size, next I'll blow the pattern up and see if I can double his size to around 6'. : )

um quick question
do your patterns allow for seam allowance or do you have to include that when cutting out?

awesome tutorial btw made me so happy to see it.

nooby-banana In reply to Black-Obsidian [2012-03-31 18:36:51 +0000 UTC]

You should allow for 1/4 inch sea allowance when cutting them out.

And thank you!

nooby-banana In reply to Black-Obsidian [2012-03-31 20:43:47 +0000 UTC]

I don't remember, I just made paper eyes and held them up to his head until I made ones that were the size I wanted, and then made the clay ones the same size.

I looked at the final product of this and I nearly died. I wish you could make some more because I would literally pay 1,000,000 dollars for that (even though I don't have that). Thank you for putting this up!

Hi I have a question. It may be a little stupid, but just to be sure, we have to live 1cm when we cut each piece of Toothless, right?
Thanks.

nooby-banana In reply to PinkPolishedNight [2012-02-21 21:58:08 +0000 UTC]

If you're talking about seam allowance, then yes, leave 1/4 inch when cutting out the pieces.

EMCaffarel [2012-01-29 08:58:29 +0000 UTC]

Do the pieces have a seam allowance, or is the edge of the pattern pieces the sewing line?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PastYourPorchlight In reply to EMCaffarel [2012-01-30 20:08:27 +0000 UTC]

I was just going to ask this so I checked her previous comments, you make your own 1/4" seam allowance around the pattern pieces!

BlueVolt [2011-12-12 22:31:54 +0000 UTC]

This is amazing! I've already got the head done and I love it!

quick question though. Do you have to make a separate pattern for the belly? because the belly and the body pattern look really similar. could I use the body pattern for the belly part?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nooby-banana In reply to BlueVolt [2011-12-15 03:07:03 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

The belly is a seperate piece for a reason. You could try to use the same piece as the body but I can't guarantee it'll look good.

Oh my thanks sooo much! I love the tutorial! It had me laughing the whole way through~! I plan to make my own toothless next time i get a chance to go to the fabric store (gotta love Joanns!) I just have one question... How large is the finnished product and how do I print out the Pattern? If you could answer these questions I would be a very happy camper! Thanks again for the great tutorial!

I'm glad you like my pattern! The final product is about 3 1/2 feet long and to print it out, just copy each image over to Word and resize it so it fits the whole page.
