Batman has some of the best villains XD but that might be becuase batman is so popular.
Always loved the Mad Hatter... yeah the Batman villain.
:I is it terrible I didn't know Johan was spelled that way till I read up on the series online? Even after watching the show I'm still not clear on exactly WHAT his back story is XD
Gosh reminds me why I like Lysander so much. He's a Villain that seems to be a pretty decent guy... just plotting to destroy the world.
Better than Ghetsis...

definitely, and nah I think it's more inverse batman is so popular because his villains are so good, imagine batman without good enemies and nonsense like the villains in captain planet. and yes the mad hatter is really awesome, there's so many good ones. though of course there's some ridiculous ones too like calender man.
not at all, I always thought it was a Y for awhile too until I first tried looking it up
I liked lysandre character wise but design wise he was a huge glaringly obvious twist and his final form thing was super ludicrous, I just think it jumped the shark and ruined the characterization a bit. Ghetsis is always such a cop out villain that got rid of all the good moral grays in pokemon black and white, just suddenly relinquish the moral ambivalent goal to say they're taking over the world

I had to reread my comment to figure out what I meant by that XD
What I meant was that Batman's villains have had time to grow and be expanded apoun. They've gotten more passes and more origins than most other villains, going way past their Villain of the week origins.
It helps that Batman the Animated Series did most of their origins ( And really well might I add ).
Yeah I guess what I'm saying is that their original concept might not have been the best but they've been refined over and over till we got some really great villains now.
If they had built up his final form, or mentioned it at all.... that would have been nice.
He just kinda shows up with his doc oc arms XD
That was his plan all along! Be such a let down villain 5th gen would fail! He's a meta villain.
( Or maybe he's purposely trying to make people who fight for pokemon freedom look like world conquering scum.)

ah, that makes sense.
definitely , Β it's just such a last minute cop out, and yeah that may be his REAL plan but I wouldn't hold such a cool plot twist like that to be somethign in a pokemon game, where they were intentionally going over the top evil like that to slander the notion of protecitng pokemon freedom

Granted that freakishly cool plot twist would fall kinda flat.
" So to help your cause to slander pokemon activist, you adopted an orphan child and raised him to up hold the very views you're trying to stop?"
" My cover will be full proof!"
( Unless his plan was to make N the figure head and then once power had been given to plasma he would usurp N for the throne himself.)

Mr. Freeze has always been an excellent example of a good villain to me, depending on the version, of course.
Didn't start out evil, in fact quite the contrary, thenΒ because ofΒ things he couldn't control found himself in a believable situation where extremes seemed like the only answer. His position was completely understandable, and in the movie I'm thinking of, I even WANTED him to get his way, despite the very clearly evil actions he was taking. He even got a somewhat redeemable ending.

certainly, not all versions do the backstory as well...oh gosh the original live action bat man movies with all the cold puns from Mr. Freeze....
but in the batman animated series it was a magnificent iteration and extremely well done with layered emotion.
definitely, he's just going to Β radical approaches to attain a really heart warming goal, though some things you just can't reclaim and that leads him down this radical paths refusing to face a reality that would force him to move on

Those puns were almost a character of their own.

haven't read personally, so not recommending a villain I haven't experienced first hand, besides, read a few more lines and says I likely missed a ton anyway

Excellent as always. It's funny how I agree with every single point here, yet Kid Buu from DBZ is so far one of my favorite villains ever, probably due to the fact that he took things to the extreme opposite about how deep a villain is. He is, literally, just plain evil and eager to destroy things, after all. Then again, DBZ never had a lot of moral questions at first glance.

awesome to hear, and funnily enough Buu is one of my favorites, I love how before he split he was just so easy to manipulate yet so powerful, his child like nature was a wonderful change to things, and love how hercule turned him around. all the other buus are fun as well, though the first buu is always my favorite characterization wise.Β
dbz is just pure action galore with some straightforward characterizations and extreme over the top shenanigan fun that's hard to top

Oh, yeah, the fat buu was always lovely too, even with all those creepy moments with eating people or blowing Babidi's head. I'll never forget those moments with Hercule and the puppy. I loved him in GT's brief appearances as well, no matter how much people may like or dislike that saga.

those creepy moments with that child like obliviousness is what made him really believably foreign to things in the world. GT had it's moments despite people raging on it.
