haha, well for someone like me who doesn't have any form of income anything over $10 is expensive but that's just me!! xD It sucks though that you guys don't have cheaper ones but then again you're lucky because you know how to make a good one for less money

It's great to see non-art creations on dA. While it is an art site, it is host to a number of tinkerers, meddlers, and creators, and I'd love to see more things like this here! Thanks for a great tutorial, perhaps I'll give it a try!

Can i use an old computer screen?....I know silly question

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

onwa7 In reply to bowtiefox [2013-03-27 20:00:10 +0000 UTC]

if it's a LCD flat screen and it's not working maybe.. i never open this kind of monitor x).. but i think it should work.
BUT.. be really careful, computer screen contain a lot of electronique card that can be hard to remove and contain very high voltage capacitor (320V or higher) , that can be really dangerous even if the screen is unplug! =O

Yay! I now have a use for that trashy laptop that's deader than a door-nail! (Or at least so virus-addled I dare not turn it back on, as if I could, stupid blue-screen)
Otherwise I've kinda been using my monitor as a lightbox. Crack open a white pic on photoshop, tape everything up and viola! Unfortunately my monitor is a 32" flatscreen and there's no way to tilt the angle.

What kind of paper do you use?

TotemEye In reply to animeartist8315 [2013-03-27 15:09:25 +0000 UTC]

Any kind of white [office] paper is fine when you have a good, strong bulb in lightbox.
