Description
This tutorial explains how a buyer and an artist can set up payment using deviantART's Commission Widget. Through this process, the artist receives CASH through PayPal. The artist DOES NOT receive any points. There is a two week delay between when the buyer sends payment and when the artist receives the funds through PayPal.

im kinda worried since recently some people that i have commisioned to draw for me for some reason got this message saying they scammed me when (A I never filed a report on them at all! i wouldnt do that (B, thwy finished their commsions for me when it happend. they also got points reducted when happened, and idk if they ever got them back QAQ
im worried since i do not want the same thing to happen to me, and i did finish the commision for someone that commisioned me in less that 3 hours,
i never even filed a report on them, they are friends of mine too >3<

Why do you have to wait 2 weeks before you could withdraw by paypal?

I've never seen a clear explanation of this. One theory is that the artist is supposed to create and deliver the artwork during this two-week period - DA is holding the funds and can theoretically either disperse or refund the payment during this time if there is a dispute. However, in my experience, artists don't trust/understand DA's system, so they wait the two weeks for the funds to appear in Paypal before starting on the commission.

How do you remove previous commissions that you don't want to be listed anymore?

When you edit the widget, there should be an 'x' option on the right of each existing listing you can click to remove them.

You can click on the little edit icon by the widget and from there you can choose whether you want to hide it, Delete it or edit it along with any other listed commission! Hope this helps.

Normally that would work, since I remember editing the price of one of my commissions before.
But there aren't any options right now, not sure if it's broken or not.

There isn't a red x icon next to the commission post? It should be on the side of the Show and Edit buttons, If that doesn't work maybe try removing the widget and adding it back?

Do you know if there's a way not to use paypal with this widget? I'm not expirienced with paypal but I do have a bank account/card I use regularly. Does that work? I was just thinking of using this since it seemed like an alternative to paypal. Sorry if this is a silly question > . <
Edit: I see deviantart has a way to mail you your checks... but that's a big fee. Is there an alternative? D,: ( though I wouldn't mind it if it happened to be the last resort )

There are three ways to make a withdrawal from your earnings: through PayPal, as DA points, and as a check. If you have a Core membership, the $5 fee for withdrawing a check is waived.

Hello, I have a question.
I'm from Brazil and would like to use the widget, so people can pay in points and I can receive in dollars.
I've done a few commissions and received all through the "purchase" feature, premium content. when I do so, the money says 300 points or $3 for example.
But on commission widget, it says 300 points and instead of dollars, it appears in Reais (my currency). However, the conversion rate from Reais to Dollars is not up-to-date to reality...
is there a way I can use the commission widget but receive in Dollars instead of Reais?

Oh... Well I have a commission up but I don't actually want any money.... Just the points...... If I accept someone's request for a commission by me will I get the points? Or like will I get the money that comes with the points... Cause I don't want anyone to have to give me literal money... I mean my commission is only 10 points.

The commission widget will reduce the number of points you receive by 20%. If you post a 10 point commission, you will only receive 8 through the widget. If you use the Donation Widget, the buyer still pays the same amount, but you get all 10 points.
