NOW we can exhale.

Authors Notes:

Yo first of all, shout out to who’s literally been holding out for Cohen to get his breakfast since page 4 of chapter 15 LOL. I couldn’t say why at the time, but your comments on the matter had me grinning from ear to ear. XD

I was so excited to get to this point in chapter 16, guyysss. CATHARSIS! Real, genuine good vibes! (on my end anyway i dunno bout ya’ll but i’m breathing easy….for now…)

This scene was originally supposed to happen WAY later down the line. But similar to the fight between Cohen and Kiba, the fact that I came to understand the motivations of my characters more ended up shuffling some things around. It was originally supposed to be Cohen being bullheaded and not apologizing until the last moment (or well, it was supposed to happen in the Verdanturf arc) , as many stubborn prideful characters do. But as seen here, Cohen has no problem apologizing. So I kinda had to ask myself What’s with this guy? I thought it was pride. I thought I had it all figured out, until I didn’t. And I won’t outright state the answer I found during my search, but hopefully it’s evident from the way this scene plays out.

Also this scene was written like...a year and a half to two years ago I believe?? It’s honestly surreal to have it play out now.

Everyone has to get an awkward panel progression with Asadi. I don’t make the rules.

Did I purposely make the panel placement and glow in Asadi and Cohen’s make-up scene (specifically the “are we good?” bit) mirror the scene where things went south? Yes. Yes I did ;;u;;

And with that wraps up chapter 16! And, scarily enough, the end of my buffer ;;A;;
However, I just finished scripting the rest of the Slateport arc (chaps 17-19) this past Sunday (8/29)! So i’ll be well on my way to actually drawing here soon. My plan is still to get the rest of the Slateport arc out before the end of 2021, but i’ll be going on a couple months hiatus or so to build my buffer back up. I at least wanna have 17 and 18 done before I post again. In the meantime, next week I plan to put up a Q&A call! Been wanting to do one of those again, especially since so many of my peers have been hosting some amazing ones.

In addition, if you were unaware, I started a series on youtube called Pcaara Peruses where I read Pokemon Nuzlockes both old and new! So if you’re interested or just need something in the bg while you work on your own stuff, you can check my channel out here!

I also want to put up some other stuff like random art/fanart and maybe even some Leftovers extras while I rebuild my buffer. But until then, thanks for reading as always!!!
