"It's only been in the past few years that the battered male syndrome has gotten serious attention. The latest percentage of battered men was placed at approximately 36% or roughly 835,000 of the 2.3 million abuse cases reported yearly. Researchers believe that those figures are far from accurate for the obvious reason that most men are very reluctant to admit they have been victims of abuse."Just like how I oppose male rape. I find that the fact nearly no males ever come forward during abuse just sad and depressing.
Women are always the ones that are raped, beaten, hurt, sexually harassed, and depicted as victims on the news. When men are so ashamed they don't ever want their name and face shown after those things happen.
Not saying females don't suffer, but I am saying men don't get much slack or comfort -if any- when they're the victim.

In some societies females are feeling more and more empowered and much like some races and ethnicities they are indulging so much in the rights they've got they can push things too far. We want equality not females making men suffer for all the years they were repressed, we want equality not Jews slaughtering Germans for the past, just like we want equality not African Americans enslaving Americans for what was done to their ancestors.
If we simply act like vengeance-craving dogs we'll become what we hate. If the tables are turned then the cycle's just going in reverse.

I know, right? They aren't really feminists at all. Feminism means equality for the genders. Not putting the other gender under them.
However I really need to say that there's actually too many stamps going against feminism. Seems kind of despicable for real feminists because even the REAL feminists are being treated like dirt by anti-feminists, because of stereotypes.

Twisted thing is some of them go around harassing men, telling them rape is what they get for year of telling women to get in the kitchen or for always asking for it and stuff, like wow. Of all the things they shouldn't be against, it's abuse and rape victims of either sex getting justice.Β
There's a lot more of the anti-men type among the actual feminists and it makes the whole lot look bad. One bad apple spoils the barrel, mob mentality and all that.

I see abuse as bad on both sides, but female on male makes me the most angry of the two because it's usually played for laughs, to the point that TvTropes has a page on it.

If a man catches a woman cheating and beats her, he's a horrible monster.

I also must question why the male never fights back. I know the whole "You shouldn't hit people" thing, but this is one of those times where I would find it perfectly acceptable to retaliate against the beating before one gets too hurt.

Probably just "You shouldn't hit girls, ever," thing. I think the saying 'There's never a good reason to hit a woman' is stupid. I AM a woman and I can think of a lot of good reasons. (She's being a jerk. She stole your money. She could've had a V8. XD) It's wrong to hit people, man or woman. Except in self-defense.

It doesn't matter what someone's genitals are. Abusing someone is abuse. I've seen teenagers hit their grandparents and that's abuse. Age doesn't matter, sex doesn't matter, gender doesn't matter, if they're abusing someone they're ABUSING someone.Β
The difference between abuse and self-defense or a relationship where someone likes it rough/likes to be treated a bit roughly is so blatant.
The fact any abuse is 'lolzy' is wrong. Self-defense can be funny, misunderstandings can be funny, a lot of things can be funny, but seeing a person being hurt against their will and treated badly in public is beyond being unfunny, it's just cruel and low.

Yeah, and dear lord, if anyone ever sees a girl slap him in the neck or smack his neck, stop them! The Adams apple on a mans' neck is a small hollow area that sticks out and if you damage it enough you can actually cause the trachea or the airway to collapse. That could cause sudden death or breathing complications.Β

When a girl hits a guy, she's a freaking hero! Everybody tells her good job or whatever. But, when a guy hits a girl, its all like "oh your such a monster! I hope you go to jail". Back in my junior high, girls would hit guys and use the excuse "you cant hit me unless I hit you 3 times". and even on the 3rd time, they'd be all "oh that's woman abuse! It's illegal!" What, so a guy can be hit, but a girl cant? How the hell is that fair? Β

A guy could be aroused out of fear or any other thing. Fear gets your blood pumping throughout your body. Hell, most guys wake up hard. Who's to say a girl taking advantage of a guy's body reacting without his mind even being aware of it or wanting it isn't rape?
Rape also means:Β to destroy and strip of its possession.Β To cause great damage, destruction etc to.
If someone is using a person's body they are taking it andΒ possessing it. They are destroying a part of that person.Β
Rape is using a living being that has feelings' body against their will. Male, female, hermaphrodite, transgender, transexual, etc doesn't matter. They are all still people.Β
People are people and the sex of the person has nothing to do with whether they "deserved it" or were "asking for it" because that's bull. No one asks for it.

totally, there was this article once about this guy who had been raped by a woman (his girlfriend?) and all the reactions (with a few minor exceptions) were just people laughing at him, saying "men can't get raped because they will never not want it", various other disbeliefs at the plausability and really just more laughing at/making fun of him and I literally had to walk away from my computer I was so pissed off.

Not always. There are woman who are just as strong if not stronger than most men, and jealousy has nothing to do with it. Though some women abuse men out of jealousy it's a very uncommon happenstance. Half of abuse victims become abusers, thus continuing the circle of abuse. The best way to prevent abuse is to get the abuser and the abused help, there are places that can help both parties.

You know, my mom was always telling me to be careful. But when I say "What about Josh? (my brother)" she said "He's a boy! He has nothing to worry about!" That pissed me off.
So instead of my mom and dad protecting my younger brother (who is a year younger), I'm doing it. No way in hell is my brother ever getting abused by a girlfriend. My brother has been hurt emotionally the most by the opposite sex, and I've never been hurt by any of my exes!Β
My brother is a target. Even thought people look at him and think "no, he can hold his own" NO. He was taught to never lay his hands on a woman, for any reason. I told him the opposite. If she starts abusing him physically, give her a good slap to the face.Β
