Description
The Dreadnought Drop Pod was developed alongside the more common Legion Drop Pod during the Great Crusade. Designed for Dreadnoughts, these Drop Pods are larger than the standard Drop Pods and have a more powerful engine, allowing for a meteoric descent to the battlefield.
This Drop Pod type is one of the largest known Drop Pod variants used by the Legiones Astartes and can deliver a single Dreadnought into combat. It lacks non-essential equipment like restraints and weapon holders to make room for the bulk of the Dreadnought. The Dreadnought Drop Pod uses three or four large external doors in contrast to the smaller ones found in other types of Drop Pods. These can deliver Contemptor, Castaferrum, and Redemptor Dreadnoughts to the battleground.
