Description
It was nice to see a different variety of songbirds on my trip up north. The bluebirds however were the highlight for me. I have never seen them until this trip and they were magnificent. I had this cooperative bird perch on this log in front of the grand canyons bright angel lodge.western bluebird- Arizona

Beautiful shot!
The red color is more intense than the Eastern Bluebirds I have.

Thanks! This was my first encounter with bluebirds, but I have seen photos of both western and eastern bluebirds. Some were more rusty in color than reds in others.

These birds are great. They'll land right in front of you if there's something to eat. One landed too close for me to focus.

This one was quite bold, but being a resident of the grand canyon im sure they are very used to people getting close as i had to step back a few times haha.
