Nearly same situation here. My main pc crashed some weeks ago. Now i'm using an old clunker which doesn't let me install Windows8. Seems i have to spend the money to buy a new one.

Wow, show that Microsoft. They never thought you can make so much out of this old OS... We had Windows XP looking like Whistler, Vista, 7 and now 8... Dude, don't stop that!

Uhhhaaaaa...
Jap, stimmt wohl.

PeterRollar In reply to Fibonacci95 [2011-10-02 19:19:31 +0000 UTC]

Ruhe in Frieden, Windows XP.

I think I can understand LeeSoft's desire to get a little remuneration for his efforts by bundling his newest ViStart with crapware and restricting system modders from including it in their downloads, but it (if you include that damned splash screen) the experience is getting too depressing.

Here's a challenge for you Peter. Why not just find a way to mod an XP Visual Style menu to a Win 8 version. That little black pop-up shouldn't take too much work. Apparently there's no transparency needed and you'd save lots of RAM by not running an extra app. Since I've never worked with visual styles, I wouldn't know where to start, but I bet you could.

I understand and accept Lee's decision. Only it is to late to act like this. He should have done this while or before Vistart's top popularity. Vistart will die together with XP, so it's time is very limited. Makes no sense to try to get control now after years of "laisser faire".

About the challenge:I'm a little bit tired of all this stuff i do atm. Some of these things took a lot of time and effort. You do customisation stuff yourself, so i think you know what i'm talking about.
I only work on VS for my private uses, because there are so many good artists, that i can never challenge them. I think i could find it out how to do this, but i'm not sure if i really will do it. The idea itself is great. Maybe it comes up in my head on a lazy day.
Have a great time Lannie. Nice to hear from you. Reminds me the good old days on

Yeah this was the nicest time i had on DA. Nowadays many of the members here are "One click customisers". They don't really know what they are doing and want exe files to do the job for them. The old fashioned way of customising seems to be to much work for them.
Have a great time my friend.

But how you got the space between systray icon?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PeterRollar In reply to Dark-Knight193 [2011-10-04 10:50:06 +0000 UTC]

All systray icons are set to always hide. The visible icons are displayed by SBar. Click on the speaker icon brings up the original systray.
