I have another question. ^^ After you click the eye button, is the background supposed to be grey and checker board like?

The checks are just telling you that there is nothing in the background. If you'd like, make a solid white layer behind everything so you can see the sketch better

I use the brush tool a little to smooth out the colors and such. I also use the ellipse tool for the circles
