Thank you so much for this. I'm too embarrassed to describe the long and frustrating process I was using to "clean up" my hand-drawn sketches - thank you so much for showing me how to do it the REAL way . You are my new hero.

Do you know how to straighten a picture if it was scanned slightly crooked? I'm trying to line up the feet of a character with a line on a template and one foot is higher than the other...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi! I love this tutorial, but as I'm new to Gimp, I keep stuffing it up... just before, I used the paths tool (the one that looks like an ink pen) to outline a picture as you did. I (think) I set up all the things properly, and then once I'd spent half an hour outlining it I wasn't sure what to do, so I clicked away. And then nothing came up. All my outlining was gone. Can you help me with this??

OK im new to the whole Gimp thing @~@
The information was very helpful
But instead of making layers I just went and did the line over the sketch.
My only question is, how do you get of the sketch layer?
Im so sorry if this question bugs Im a newbie to this :iconOTLplz Ive only ever use my PAINT to color my art in and stuff either that or I just "sketch"

See the box to the left that says "Layers, Channels, and Paths"? Look at the icons just below it. To the far left is the layers tab. Click on it and all the layers should pop up. Just select a new layer by clicking on it.

I guess when you use a program you learn to overlook buttons.
I am NEVER overlooking 'paths' ever again!
Thank you SO MUCH!
