im not sure on how to get rid of the sketch. im trying to make my 1st gimp picture, and i drew it on paper 1st, put a transparent layer over it, and then basicly traced it. but now i want to get rid of the sketch i drew, and im not sure of all the term u used im still very new. can u say it in steps? please?

Makinak In reply to plucky-ducky [2010-08-11 22:40:42 +0000 UTC]

Step 1: Go to the layers box left click the layer with the orginal drawing to select it as active layer.

Step 2: Right click on the same layer.

Step 3: Scroll down to delete layer and left click.

I think this would be really helpful if I knew what the heck all those tools do. There's so many!
I was starting to figure a bit out thanks to this. :]
I'll come back to this once I take a crash course on the GIMP interface. :]

The way to un-merge the layers is called the undo button xD
Anyway, I'll try this once my scanner works. xD
I've tried just drawing something with the path tool, it failed epicly. xD
