Very beautiful, Lily! Your painting technique on the figure is absolutely amazing! I particularly love her hair and the folds of her dress. The sky is also lovely, and I love the whole ethereal feel of the piece.

Sometimes I think it'd be great to have hair like that, but then I realise the amount of money I'd have to spend on conditioner! My hair is long enough & hard enough to manage as it is

The colours were a challenge for me this time around. Each colour you see in the piece was a blend of at least 2-3 colours to get the look & feel that I wanted. Was a tad nerve wrecking, but it worked out in the end

yup, scanners and watercolor tend to not get on very well. but this is so lovely, the rendering on the sky and her hair is beautiful. *sings the fave song*

Oh I'm ready to throw my scanner out the window & then jump on it until one of us breaks... Preferrably it... Alas I can't afford a good quality one just yet, so this hunk'o'junk will just have to do!
I think my mose favourite thing in this painting is the sky... Tis hard to get a nice smooth graded wash when you've only got piddling little brushes. I probably spent a good hour working it - wash over wash over wash, to get the colours down & then to eliminate the streaking from working with a smallish brush. I think I'm going to put down a 'Wash Brush' on my Christmas list & see if Santa will bring me one
