Description
Plugin download [link] The link is in the video description, to find it easier you can use Ctrl+F and find "bowlroll.net". The video also show how to use some advanced features of the plugin but it's too confusing for me.To install plugin, download the file, extract it, rename the folder "skirt plugin" and put it in the following folder: your PMD editor folder>plugin>user>skirt plugin.
The plugin only works with PMDE version 1.37 or higher, I've tried with 1.00 and the english version but they didn't work.
I've been very hesitant to make character with skirt and long coat because skirt rigging is a pain and this plugin is a life saver. I love it so much and want to share it with everyone ^^

I have a question, what if the model have like not a full skirt (not full circle) like a cape on on the lower body on the back. How should I place the joint for that?

Just delete the physics, bones and joints that aren't connected to anything

it worked but what do you do to make the legs don't go through the skirt?Β

Hi, I know this is an old comment, but.. If you still remember, what did you do to solve this? ;w;

PikoraChu In reply to villadia [2015-06-28 12:52:18 +0000 UTC]
The physic groups is what causes this problem,
Think of it as this, the physic group is set to none collide, [Or "no go through"]Β
ok example, your skirt physic group is 8
All body physics is 1
The Body physic has none collide with almost all numbers, but in your case it may not, so check the box labelled "8"Β
Now the body physic repels the skirt physics, do the same with the skirt and it's fixed.
If that was too much for you I'll be happy to look at it for you :3Β

How do you remove all the unnecessary parts or just hide it when adding bones to the skirt? Especially the long haired models the bones tend to cluster together at the back portion.. I find it hard to select the bones for the skirt..

I dunno if you're still looking for an answer, but what I'd do is:
1. set up the model exactly how you want it and save.
2. position the skirt you want to rig/add bones to into the exact position you want it on the model. then, delete absolutely ever other physic, joint, and bone (you can delete all the other materials too).
3. now add the physics and bones. delete any of the remaining things that had nothing to do with the skirt.
4. save as a new file. open up the old saved file and add it.
I usually do something like this when I want to size an item with bones and physics already, so I think it'd work out like this.

MMD-Sky In reply to chibinekogirl102 [2014-01-16 23:47:06 +0000 UTC]
That's likely a physics problem, not a bone problem. Check that the skirt's physics bodies aren't in the same non-collision group as the legs.

MMD-Sky In reply to chibinekogirl102 [2014-01-27 10:44:23 +0000 UTC]
In the physics tab of PMD editor, select a physic body and look at the coloured numbers and tick boxes in the bottom left. Those are the non-collision groups. If two bodies overlap on any non-collision groups, they will go through each other.

If I can remember it was turned on. This was a comment from almost two years ago, so I already have figured out the solution, but thanks anyway. Turns out the lower body physic wasn't connected to the bone itself. That meant when the model moved the skirt just stayed in its place.

These C# plugins are very version-sensitive. The one in the video description is for PMX v216. Try that version, or if you can't download it, I can send you my PMX (program folder with the plugin) tomorrow.

it looks like no matter what I can't get it to work. I have a version someone sent to me with the plugin installed on their version of v216. I have dll errors gallore and no idea why as well as the User folder won't show up in the plugins on the program..
π: 0 β©: 1
Wampa842 In reply to Techycutie [2014-06-06 06:25:50 +0000 UTC]
This is why I hate Japanese. Try to set the locale to Japanese, extract the DLL again, then set the locale back to whatever it was. This should eliminate the naming problem.
If that doesn't work, I have a 1.2.3 version with a working plugin. It's not the latest, but it should work. You make the model in the newest version, rig the skirt in this one, then switch back to the newest.
