Description
Plugin download [link] The link is in the video description, to find it easier you can use Ctrl+F and find "bowlroll.net". The video also show how to use some advanced features of the plugin but it's too confusing for me.To install plugin, download the file, extract it, rename the folder "skirt plugin" and put it in the following folder: your PMD editor folder>plugin>user>skirt plugin.
The plugin only works with PMDE version 1.37 or higher, I've tried with 1.00 and the english version but they didn't work.
I've been very hesitant to make character with skirt and long coat because skirt rigging is a pain and this plugin is a life saver. I love it so much and want to share it with everyone ^^

no, you can only use the skirt plugin for skirts, everything else you have to do manuallyΒ

no actually. That was a 2013 comment, so I am much better at this now. It real nae is circular physics plugin, so anything using circular physics can be used with this plugin, if you know what your doing.Β

May I ask a question? I did all of this but my skirt won't move at all. Do I have to weight the skirt to the bones as well?

Thank you, but I did it all following the steps and when I put it in MMD the dress just collapsed on the floor, stretching from the hips down... what did I do wrong?

vocaloidX2583 In reply to haddyDrow [2013-04-18 16:29:52 +0000 UTC]
i think you might have to weight the skirt, but to save some hassle try weighting it the the lower body bone first to see if it works. If not you might have to weight each individual bone ^_^"

I think I know the problem, the skirt I made doesn't have a lot of vertices they are separated so I think it's the problem Thanks anyway.

How do you get the legs to stop going through the skirt? The model I'm using dose have leg physics but when I test her skirt using the plugin her legs keep going through.

juddles-Chan In reply to Pharaoh-Yami [2013-03-31 05:51:35 +0000 UTC]
have you checked that the legs are attached to the skirt?
π: 0 β©: 1
Pharaoh-Yami In reply to juddles-Chan [2013-03-31 05:54:31 +0000 UTC]
Meaning? She has leg physics then yes.
π: 0 β©: 1
juddles-Chan In reply to Pharaoh-Yami [2013-03-31 06:10:24 +0000 UTC]
well the skirt vertices have to be attached to the leg bones so they move along that way, i guess they should be attached automatically with the plugin? but if they're not moving with the leg bone then that can be the problem i think.
π: 0 β©: 1
Pharaoh-Yami In reply to juddles-Chan [2013-03-31 06:14:46 +0000 UTC]
They are moving with the leg bones and stuff, they just sometimes poke through the skirt.
π: 0 β©: 1
juddles-Chan In reply to Pharaoh-Yami [2013-03-31 06:24:17 +0000 UTC]
are the vertices attached on 100 then? o: if theyre not then theyll probably not move along high enough when you raise the legs more. sorry if you already knew all this xD

If your putting the plugin in the user folder witht the right version of PMDe and it doesn't show up, try re-downloading the file, and DON'T rename it. I had an issue with it not working after renaming it.

I think I know what's going on. In the window with all the tabs (not the View window where your model is) there should be four options above the tabs, with (F), (E), (V), and (I) in their names. Go to the one that says (I) and click the top option to change it from PMX to PMD editor. This worked for me, so I hope it helps!

I appreciate the help very much, but I notice when I load a PMD file, it automatically switches to PMD instead of PMX. But for some reason the skirt plugin doesn't work for me. I continue to get an error message that says it cannot load the plugin, some kind of error, cannot support one of its dependencies.

HallloweenKatt In reply to Ina-Haru [2013-03-13 05:01:31 +0000 UTC]
Okay, I MIGHT know how to fix this one . . . When you download the plugin, move the zipped file to the desktop, right click it, got down to Properties, and click unblock in the window that pops up. Then unzip the file and try using it again. (This is how I finally got PMD itself to work, and I think this is how I fixed the plugin the last time I downloaded it.)

Again, I really do appreciate the help. Well...I tried that....and it didn't work. Now I get a different, longer error message saying that it can't load/find the slimDX. I know my pc has everything for PMd to be compatible, the program itself runs fine. I just can't get the dang plugin to work. I also noticed that when PMD is open and I try to go to the user file, it isn't there....

Hmm . . . The only other thing I can think of is to try putting the file in the System file instead. (I remember having trouble with this plugin originally . . . It was only by some fluke I got it working, and I don't remember exactly how I did it . . .)

Thank you so much for this. TuT I found the most wonderful dress for my model . . . But 3DCG physics are so horrible. Now it works great! (Granted, it would have worked better if I had realized that there was another layer under the skirt that I couldn't see, but that's an easy fix.)

Did you choose the lower body physic for the skirt physics to be joined to? Look at the 4th picture in my tutorial. You have to pick the bone physic of the lower body from the drop down list. If the list is blank then it means your model didn't have any bone
physic and you have to add them, at least to the lower body and the leg bones.
