Description
Plugin download [link] The link is in the video description, to find it easier you can use Ctrl+F and find "bowlroll.net". The video also show how to use some advanced features of the plugin but it's too confusing for me.To install plugin, download the file, extract it, rename the folder "skirt plugin" and put it in the following folder: your PMD editor folder>plugin>user>skirt plugin.
The plugin only works with PMDE version 1.37 or higher, I've tried with 1.00 and the english version but they didn't work.
I've been very hesitant to make character with skirt and long coat because skirt rigging is a pain and this plugin is a life saver. I love it so much and want to share it with everyone ^^

It's because you didn't edit the joints option. I'm not an expert about this either, but made some guide here

Hmm, my physics work, but they're incredibly stiff, are we supposed to adjust the joint tab?

yeah, I had problem with it too. I figured that the 5th tab is joint in the same row, and 6th tab is connecting joint (joint that connect physic from different row). Change the range and rot option will make it better, but I can't figure out the best number. It may be depend on the dress's shape. There are some models I just can't put up here because of dress clipping and stuck out of the dress completely. Really wonder how the Japanese modeler do it.

ah I see, so best bet would be to look at an existing skirt and use those #'s for the desired look huh? <:
Thanks for the reply man!
Nice icon btw, haven't read DNAngle in ages XD

Yeah, It's kind of hard if you are going to make a complete weirdly shaped skirt though . If only I know Japanese to understand the logic to decide the number But overall this plugin is really great, I don't think I would even think of making model with skirt if this plugin didn't exist. xD
Ah, you noticed he's from DNAngel? Daisuke have always been my favorite character, he is both badass and cute. Remind me that I didn't make a model of him yet XD. The mangaka draw the manga at a snail rate though

I got it to work thanks! I copied the same #'s of the joints of another model and the dress flows really well, the only problem now is that the leg goes through it still I SHALL FIGURE THIS OUT. Man I love this plug-in now.
Lol, yeah. I never finished DNAngel, always like daisuke though. Dark too. and that adorable rabbit thing.

Thank you for this very useful tutorial ;3;/
This was what saved me from those bad 3DCG physics XD
I've learnt some new things you might find useful for it
On picture 3 on the box that has the Japanese and next to it it has a text box four times below each other they actually says:
Bones: [Enter name for bones]
Physics: [Enter name for physics]
Joints: [Enter name for Joints]
Connecting Joints: [Enter name for Connecting Joints]
On picture 5 where you choose the physics colours:
I think it would be nice to let them know that whichever number from 1-16 is ticked is what will go through.
Other than that the ones not ticked are ones you don't let it go through.

2.12 is too advanced, you should use 1.39
2.12 is complicated

PFFF. THANKS -esplodes-

pika92 In reply to AbsentWhite [2012-11-03 07:09:54 +0000 UTC]
it's okay ^^, I've figured it out by watching the Japanese video, frame after frame and even had to write the button name down. Hell, but it worth it.
I still cant figure out what is the proper Limit and Speed option for a skirt. I found the tab for that setting, but everytime I try to change those number, the skirt moved weirdly. And it's all stiff if I leave it at zero .

You mean the model rigged using the plugin crash MMD? It also happened to me once, but after I redo it (with a previously saved version of that model), it worked fine. I don't really know what cause it, but it must have something to do with the physic, MMD only crash if I have physic on.The physic could have been too complicated or wrongly placed, which make MMD unable to calculate physic and lead to crashes. The plugin is not perfect, and it could mess up once in a while. In that case just redo the process with a clean model and see if the problem fix itself.

Does this only work on the skirt? One of my characters have long sleeves, could it also work on them?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
pika92 In reply to MMD-Nay-PMD [2012-10-29 16:25:13 +0000 UTC]
I think it could, but haven't tried, you could try rotate the joints with the same method I did with the skirt. When I watched the guide video, I also saw some interesting options, like making it a flat row of bone ( for cape I guess), or rotating it 90 degree (I'm guessing it's for big sleeves), but I didn't figure out the button for it. The plugin version in the video was sadly out of date. I've tried testing it many times to figure out enough to make this tutorial.
