Description Description and bio. Marvel at the colossus of the desert, devastator of plateaus, a mechanize malicious menace...MOTOTAUR! Part man, part savage beast, all fury. Mototaur is core member of the Insurgence Of Darkness, trumped by only one other member, but only in cunning. His size, that of a mountain, strength far surpassing that of protosteel, speed aided by his motorized feet and body, is reach, that of the length of a kohli field with his bohrok head morning star.
Mototaur is very old, perhaps one of the oldest members of the insurgence. It is said that he was unearthed from deep within one of the nui islands, released from imprisonment set upon him long ago by the order of mata Nui to wreak havoc upon the deserts of Metru nui. Despite being old Mototaur acts and moves as if he were young. This is perhaps the result of a hibernation brought on by the imprisonment. It is known that Remaku is the one who sought him out and released him. The details are all rumored as Mototaur's wrath upon the sands was of a sudden one, appearing as if a sandstorm. Villagers of the various desert regions simply stay out of his way and bend to his will, for he could singlehandedly be the down fall of a village. Only teams of toas and titans have bested him, and only rarely

The new build
Mototaur got a massive overhaul from the previously "completed" version. He's been completely rebuilt from the abdomen down. A third pneumatic piston was incorporated into his torso for optimum stability. His forearms redone to include Caterpillar tracks in them. His neck has been fleshed out, his head received additions and additional armor has been placed here and there. This revamp has proven most challenging at ever turn, even leading me down dead ends thusly having to backtrack.

Unfortunately, he's not everything I envisioned in the new designs. His stability is near what it used to be but sadly not of the standard I'd like it to be and I lack the proper parts to adequately see this though. But his designs are sufficient enough to be shared and considered a Complete version of him. In due time I will once again revisit what by now is probably my signature MOC to hopefully improve upon what I deem to be inferior designs and make hims stabler and more poseable. Maximum stability and poseablity is my ultimate goal with these larger MOCs.

Now while its said that this is Version 3, this is actually a much later version, but I've lost track of how many version I had before the first version posted here on

Detail layout Can be viewed here.

*update*

I can't believe it, I got a DD Thank you so very much To ~Alex-Darkrai for suggesting me and having some truly kind words to say about My work. I humbly accept this great honor I really hope this will shed some much needed light in the bionicle MOCing Community here on Deviant art and incourage more MOCers to make the switch from off site locations to here for their MOC hosting and socializing. Once again, thank you so much every one.

Oh and I promise I'll get to all your comments. And thank you to everyone who faved any of my Deviations.

Thanks. Well it took a lot of trial and error over the course of a lot of time. I didn't just sit down and build him in a day, or a week. I've improved on the designs over a few years now. But I built him after making my first colossus MOC, Ryakk [link] Mototaur was my answer to "how do I top that?" Then Mechus [link] was my attempt at going further with the Colossus concept by making one that was a mech suit for a toa. Mechus ended up being easier though.

That is absolutely astounding. I wish I could build something like that...but I don't have nearly enough pieces so I guess it's moot. Heh.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to TheShadowEmperor [2012-04-06 08:58:24 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. It definitely isn't easy. He's still not right. The MOC you see here is me going "Ugn, fine, this is tolerable for now." Those legs don't work as well as I'd like them to.

Don't feel bad. All MOCers are limited by the amount of parts we have, its just that some MOCers can get a crap ton of parts. Sometimes, its not about how much you have, its mostly about how you use what you have. I've seen great MOCs with little to nothing used, I've seen boring lame MOCs that used a ton of the same parts over and over again.

Haha just wow!!! I've always had a thing for Bionicle... first ones i got was for my birthday when i was a wee crazy kid haha! was a green, blue and red
Bio, you could like make them to a ball or something and press a button and their head would pop out xD. I was so amazed..
And how the years started passing i just threw every single one that i got in to my drawer till it filled up with pieces of dead bionicle XD
Sometimes when i'm bored i open the drawer and just assemble at random haha ^^
But this what you made... damn! i always wanted to build something as awesome as this!!..
love it D

Getting a DD for this showed me that a lot of people had bionicles as kids, but never really used the parts like legos and made a serious attempt at MOCing. I've been playing with legos since I was 2 years old, and regular legos, not the big baby versions. I kinda had an early start.
The ones you're talking about are called Bohrok. They did those for two years, 2002, and 2003. Hehe, I wish I could get those parts from people like you, Hehe I could use em to build more awesome things. Its often times rather annoying, wanting to use 4 of something, and having two or three. Its always 1 when I need 2, 2 when I need 3, etc. Oh well. That's part of the challenge. I don't just go buy what ever I need to make my MOC work like some do, I have to make due with what I've got. And occasionally get to order what I need.

THanks so much for the compliment and comment. Its nice getting them every now and again. When this got DD'd, I had too many.

Yeah it is bohrok!! But those first versions ^^ not the 'newer' ones...
Still the pieces are all over the place... i don't even think i can assemble one from all i have.
I have one bio that i made by myself and its stationed at my shelf xD i like to put more stuff on it or take some out form time to time.. it kinda reminds me of the time when i was little. I had sooo many types of Bionicle... omg my mom was buying them all the time xD. My favorite one was some crazy type that had kinda of a curved body, i think the name was Vorahk. It was red haha ^^

Still keep up making these awesome things ^^
Man, i would had sooooo much fun with this monstrosity if i had it back then haha!

Over time, by keeping the MOC together and refining its designs gradually.

People never seem to get that. It wasn't the assassination of archduke Frans Ferdinan by itself that started WWI, it was rising tensions between the nations over various other things, the assassination was spark to the powder keg that sett everything in motion.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Proto-Kardas [2012-01-18 17:40:19 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I try to be. Hehe, I don't know about MOCing legend but at this point, I hope I'm remembered by some for what I've done and do with bionicle MOCs. I know I've affected some people's lives and encouraged them to MOC more, that alone makes it all worth it. I'm amazed my MOCs have been as well received as they are, and that I inspire people. When I was 14-15 years old building these things by myself in my room, before I ever had a computer and could see other people doing this I never thought my stuff would be as popular as it is. But it didn't take long for people to find my work and for it to gain notoriety. Thank you so much for such a nice compliment.
