Description
made a wonderful sculpture of Matteo that my mother purchased from him as a keepsake. I had it shipped to me so that I could take photos of it in my light tent as well as with the original MOC.Related content

When I look at the sculpture I think two things
1. he wears a mask
2. he has a weird nose

Plague doctors were people who went around attempting to cure plague patience back when the black death swept through Europe in the 14th century. Wiki has a page entry about plague doctors. So in Matteo's case, he's a doctor by day, but works for an undground group of assassins much like the illuminati or the knights Templar. Or depending on which part of the story, he focuses on killing plague monsters with other plague doctors. He's immortal so he's lived a very long time. Later on in his story he fights against other plague doctors, like Cog.Β

You need a sculpture of a sculptor making a sculpture of a man holding a sculpture of a sculptor and his sculpture XD

No, I need a sculpture of a sculpture painting a picture of himself working on a computer making a digital art piece of a man writing a novel about the sculpture.

How about a sculpture of a sculpture using a camera to take a picture of his own painting that illustrates a landscape of sculptors sculpting sculptures of novelists each writing books on the study of sculptures and the sculptors who made those sculptures?

HAHA a lot of people(my mom and step dad included) said that about Matteo when I built the first proper version of him, some people on DA said so to. So its funny that you mention that.

I surprisingly did not know that. Plus I only thought of it upon seeing the sculpture.

Hmm yeah, somewhere on the older deviations, maybe the prototype, some comments were left saying that.

Right? The lantern itself is neat, I like the way it looks, its just that the handle is a bit too long, if he were to lower his arm, it'd drag on the floor. But I'm gonna leave it the way it is.
Thanks. I certainly feel lucky to have this.

Thanks Greg. Its awesome to have something like this made from my own MOC. Like is said, its quite an honor. Cause I didn't commission him, he asked me if he could make it, and of course, I said yes. I'm always ecstatic when someone wants to create their own art from mine. He really ads some character to my desk, now I know how your desk feels like a little. Β

I'd have to tidy it up, and I'm too lazy to do that. It looks the same sitting on my Desk, so why?
Not to mention my laptop is up on blocks, it looks like Mexicans came and stole its rims. That's not true, its elevated so it vents better, and I'm using These to elevate it. So it looks weird and there's a whole mess of wires. My desk isn't very "photogenic" IMO.

Now Matteo exists in several forms, in MOC form in digital artform, traditional art form and now sculpture art form.
He's a pretty popular guy it seems.

Yours caught all the detail to though. This one doesn't have his bag. That's the one thing he didn't do, or forgot about. He's g ot the lantern, cane, pocket watch, pendant, belt and knife. I'll have to ask why not the bag. What do you mean about "gloves idea"

I finally decided to wade through all the comments on this deviation, so i guess ill answer that. It's because I used fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/201β¦ as my reference, and since the bag didn't stand out much, I kinda forgotΒ Β

π: 0 β©: 1
Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to GoldenArpeggio [2013-07-25 19:35:50 +0000 UTC]
Well yeah, he'd have to cover up his hands especially so he'd probably have thick leather gloves. The whole idea was to cover up every bit of skin as to not come in contact with the plague. Matteo is immortal so he was resilient to the plague, but it could still make him sick, so he covered up just the same as everyone else.Β
