Ah, I see. Long lines are a bit of a problem for me, so I should probably try that in the future.

I just wanted to thank you for this wonderful tutorial. You made it so easy, when I'd never been able to figure it out before. Thanks to this tutorial I was able to create better lineart then I ever have before. Here is my first piece with the new style :[link] Thank you so, so very much ^_^

This is great that you did a photoshop pen tutorial. I'm really only used to Illustrator's pen tool which is a whole different animal. It's easier to use if you ask me. Bt I'd like to become more familiar with photoshop's version.

They both have their pros and cons. >w< I hardly ever use Illustrator, so I thought I'd pass on my knowledge of PS instead! XD

Thanks so much! But how do you make the lines sharp and crisp? As in appearance. Kind of like the lines in Paint Tool SAI. I'd get that program, but they don't make it for Apple Macs.

Make sure you have the default brush selected, and that Hardness, Opacity, and Flow are all set to 100%. Also, setting the line spacing to 1% might also help. :3

Thanks so much!
I have a question, when i try to use a 5000x5000 canvas(becasue people say the bigger the better) and then i use a small brush, like 5 px and it looks all cut up and disgusting....Am i using too big of a canvas?

Popo-Licious In reply to sjham61 [2011-12-02 02:44:45 +0000 UTC]
You might not be zoomed in enough! ^__^ Make sure your view is set to 100%. If you have a 5000x5000px canvas, and you can see the boarders, you're probably at around 16% view or something like that.

Ok tahnks
How can i make lineart look smooth on a large canvas? sorry if im asking too much
π: 0 β©: 1
Popo-Licious In reply to sjham61 [2011-12-02 03:54:09 +0000 UTC]
That's what I mean. :3 If you have a large canvas, and you're not viewing said canvas properly, your lineart will look bad. Double-check that your view is 100%. If it's still choppy looking, then you probably aren't using the default brush. I would also make sure that your brush hardness is set to 100%, along with the flow and opacity. :3

Maybe you aren't zoomed in all the way?
Open up your 5000x5000 canvas. Then double click your magnifying glass to get it to 100%. Then try out your pen tool.
If that doesn't work, then I dunno....
