I was requested to make an animation tutorial for GIMP and so I decided to give it a try. I know there are tutorials like this already on DA, but one more wouldn't hurt I guess?It's a mini tutorial, it doesn't show everything, but it is something you can use to get the basics down. This is also the first real tutorial I've ever made, so any helpful comments and critiques are welcome! Also feel free to point out mistakes and such, no one here wanted to proof read it for me T_T
[GIMP ] is a free art and photo manipulation program that is available for download from their site. I normally use it for lineart, but it can do lots of other things

I tryed this, and worked about 12hours on it, it didn't Save at ALL!!! GIMP SUCKS!!!

Thanks for making this tutorial. I always wanted to piddle around with animation, try it out a bit. However, when I made the mistake of downloading a ToonBoom trial and getting my but kicked around by so many options I got scared of ever trying again. At least this way I can try something simpler first.

You are a lifesaver! I tried it right away and it works very nice. I'm so happy that GIMP can even create animations! I've never known before. Its just a shitty 6-frame rabbit but to me it is an opening to a whole new world: [link]
