This feels like a character that I might see in the Redwall books!

Thanks!

...You know, I never have read the Redwall series, though I've been admiring the cover art for years.

Thank you!

I have not drawn many rats, so Arcus was a fun subject. I enjoyed working with the subtle colors in his fur.

This one if my favorite of the ACEOs you just uploaded. Really awesome, so rat-like! :>

Thanks!

Arcus the rat warrior was a fun subject to draw - I've not worked with rats in several years, so it was a nice change of pace from the usual run of uber-bright dragons.

Thank you so much, he looks absolutely fantastic!

I love his pose and expression. He looks full of energy and confidence, especially with that slightly smug grin. You've managed to capture so much detail in such a tiny working space, too. I also like the background; very clever use of the shoulder insignia to create an interesting background design! I can't wait to see him in real life. I can tell there are some little enhancements on the belt and dagger that will look even more awesome in person.

I'm glad you're pleased! The scanner failed to pick up the metallic sheen I worked into the background, but fortunately it did pick up on the inking details. I found that I just have to use very small pen nibs and tiny watercolor brushes...
