... I usually don't make it a practice to do photomanips, but this little devART contest had me going from the start, so I had to make something just for the heck of it... hey, shove me in a cardboard box with a few limitations and I promise that I'll make you giggle...

... I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I saw the contest invite... it only took a matter of time to find the stock/resources to make it real...

... thx luv... since I knew you were a hammie expert, I knew you'd understand...
... when the contest first came out, I immediately had this idea of turning the egg-shape into a sort of mini-rocketship and having a little critter with goggles riding in it (shaped kinda like the old Wallace & Gromit "A Grand Day Out" ship)... since I wasn't allowed to construct features outside the template, I had to eliminate the rocket fins and space-age Jetson's nose antenna for something a little more subdued, so it evolved into this rusty metal "pod" thingy... overall I'm still really pleased with the piece-- adding the Nintendo controller at the last minute was a lucky stroke considering the stock pic had its little hands clutched together and he just "needed something" to hold onto...
... when I was compositing it, I wasn't literally laughing out loud, I was physically laughing out loud, so I figured it was gonna a funny piece of art that would eventually be well-received...
... when I read thru the comments in the news article, there's a LOT of people that said "OMFG, 3rd place is my fave and it shoulda won" which in itself makes me feel really good... so, yeah...

Anyway... I'm back in Hong Kong now. I'm working for Charles and Stephanie, 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day. It's awesome. I'm basically just doing admin duties and following Stephanie around. Hopefully Nico will come in August and stay for 2 months.
