Description
This is one of the ways you can color lineart in Paint Tool SaiIt may not look like much, but coloring your lineart is worth it! It'll make your drawings look much nicer.
The Watercolour tool may also be useful at blending lineart coloring~

I was wondering how to color lineart without ruining the clean black lines ^v^
Thanks a ton <3

Or why not just preserve opacity? then yu work directly only on the selected layer and can re-colour the drawing that is on that specific laer only...

.....i never thought to use clipping groups for coloring line art
but its so obviously useful in retrospect haha
btw, what do you mean about spoiling the black line art?

Sure!
Lineart - prntscr.com/9zy3czΒ (Pretty good<3)
Color - prntscr.com/9zy3h5Β (Its what I use but I wouldn't recommend it if you already have a good color brush. this one is blurry and chunky so a lot of erasing involved...)
Finer details and writing: prntscr.com/9zy3rlΒ (Once again, if you already have a good brush don't bother with this one,Β its very hard and edgy 3 )
By the way, what brush settings do you use? o:Β Β I've been looking for a brush that can easily draw/color finer, detailedΒ markings forever hahaΒ all of my brushes are pretty chunky prntscr.com/9zy2l8

Nice looking good! I got it from the artist Eukia. I name my brushes after the artist I get them from. That's been my favorite so far! I love your brushes as well! Very nice!

Oooh thank you. ;w;Β
I've deleted my old lineart and then made a new layer for colored lines 'under' the general coloreation. o-o
But i guess your method is much easier. xD
So really, thanks. c:

Ca55tamere [2015-08-16 23:30:30 +0000 UTC]
I actually lock (preserve opacity) the lineart layer. It's what I do to color my lineart X3

ooo another interesting method,Β I'll try that too
can you manually choose your colors using that method?

Ca55tamere In reply to RayFierying [2015-08-16 23:35:02 +0000 UTC]
yep, just lock the lineart layer and choose whatever color you want. It's good when you want to mix colors together on the lineart too
