It had been a couple years since the glass incident, but life hadn't gotten any better for Gallantry. His parents still treated him the same way and despised him. Often kicking him aside and ignoring him for days. He was 10 now, and out grocery shopping with his father in town.

"Dad?" Gallantry asked nervously, staring up at his father and clearly smelling the beer on his breathe.

"Hm?"

"Um..Why did you bring me?" Gall asked hesitantly, his father never brought him anywhere with him. Acorn Crack often was embarrassed to be out with his son.

"Because, Gall, your bitch of a mother made me. Cause apparently we can't leave you at home unattended anymore" Acorn growled, glaring at his son as the colt flinched back slightly. Gall kept his eyes on the ground as his dad continued.

"Because YOU are so damn incompetent to do anything on your own. I told Peach 'You should've gotten the abortion' but NO she decided not to. Now all she does is complain about how annoying our kid is and how he's always in the way! And instead of blaming you she blames ME! IT'S BULLSHIT!"

Gallantry stayed silent, listening to Acorn ramble endlessly. At this point Gall knew his dad's ranting was just for himself and not actually for Gall. But he still had to listen.

"You know you're a lucky kid, Gallantry. Every day you wake up in a warm bed with food on a plate. And what do you do? You complain all day long and mess shit up. I think I'm a pretty good father, you're just a shitty kid."

The words made Gall feel horrible, but at the same time, his dad never talked to him this much. So, in a way, it was worth something.
