Description
I will be using Photoshop CS2 for this tutorial.1. Go to image > mode > greyscale, to convert your image to black and white. now go to image > mode > RGB colour, as you'll need to add colours later.
(Don't just desaturate it, it reduces image quality!)
2. Go to layer > new adjustment layer > channel mixer and check the box that says "monochrome" next to it. Fill this in:
Red: +94
Green: +26
Blue: +2
Constant: -6
3. Go to layer > new fill layer > solid colour, type in #985D5D and click OK. Set that layer to soft light at 25% opcaity.
4. Do the same as above, but type #1A1A25 in instead. Set that layer to exclusion at 100% opacity.
5. Go to layer > new adjustment layer > selective colour, check "relative" and fill this in:
Neutrals: -20, -23, -17, 0
Blacks: +16, -5, -7, +13
6. Now duplicate your background and drag it to the top. Set it to soft light at 28%.
7. Go to layer > new adjustment layer > hue/saturation, select "master" from the drop-down list and fill this in:
Hue: +20
Saturation: -25
Lightness: +15
8. Finally, go to layer > new adjustment layer > levels, select "RGB" and fill this in:
Input: 27, 1.07, 241
Output: 0, 235
Now merge the layers and you're done!
