Everyone is here! Come with me as we look at what the most recent Smash game might have looked like if it featured Disney characters. From the magic within our hearts, to the adventure beyond the horizon, there is only one... Disney All-Stars Ultimate!

Since Smash Ultimate made everyone an unlockable character except for the original 8, I won't be separating the newcomers by base roster and unlockable. Instead, I'll be grouping them into regular fighters and echo fighters.

Unfortunately, 78 slots is not enough to fully represent everything published by Disney. So many characters would've made great fighters. And most of those characters WON'T be in the DLC, because only four DLC fighters were first party characters!

Don't lie, you would've cried tears of joy if Spider-Man was in Kingdom Hearts. And that's what this hypothetical platform fighter would've been. Kingdom Hearts, made by Masahiro Sakurai! Or Super Smash Bros. made by Tetsuya Nomura. Except for Lightning McQueen. He wasn't in Kingdom Hearts. But he still would've been in this game, thanks to constant badgering by fans for Sakurai and/or Nomura to put him in.

Interestingly, this was the easiest of the graphics to create, since I just had to add every character from the previous graphics in chronological order. Then there was just the new characters to add. Star Butterfly, the dimension-hopping magical girl. Dr. Facilier, the witch doctor with friends on the other side and one of the cooler Disney villains. Rapunzel, who could have and probably should have been in the previous game, but there wasn't enough space. In that sense, she's like Ridley or King K. Rool. Vanellope Von Schweetz, the motherfuckin' glitch! Most of these characters would have pretty simple movesets, but Vanellope would be one of those fighters with a super fun, super gimmicky moveset. Like, she could cancel attacks into other attacks by glitching, or even mess with her opponent's attacks by glitching them! But this post isn't about the gameplay, it's about the characters. I'm not Sakurai.

Up next, we have Moana. Another fun idea for a fighter, she could attack with an oar and summon the ocean (the best character in her movie) for her specials. Oh, Maui isn't a fighter. He's an assist trophy. He brags about all the fighting game tournaments he's won, then he says "you're welcome" after doing nothing. Uhh, then there's Iron Man, since there was one non-echo third party character in the base roster for Ultimate. He's already appeared in Marvel VS Capcom, so you could just take his more memorable attacks from those games and put them in this platform fighter. Finally, there's the echo fighters. We have Minnie and Daisy as echoes for Mickey and Donald, naturally. Then there's Namine as an echo for Kairi, Rey as an echo for Luke, and War Machine as an echo for Iron Man.

There was the issue of Pyra and Mythra, so I decided to do what I did with Sheik/Zelda and Samus/Zero Suit Samus. I split them into two separate roster slots, each being for a first party character. I went with Perry the Platypus, because I originally just considered adding Phineas and Ferb as a Pyra/Mythra style tag team, and Anne Boonchuy. The second season of DLC would've been in production around the same time as Amphibia's final season, after all.

The first DLC fighter for Smash was Piranha Plant, who might as well have been included with the base game due to being free and a weird fighter that NOBODY asked for. Following that logic, the free DLC for Disney All-Stars Ultimate is Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove. Then they added Joker, a relatively new character (I mean his game was three years old at this point but whatever), so that means a new third party character from Disney; The Mandalorian! I chose Pedro Pascal over Boba Fett for three reasons: First of all, the Mandalorian is without a doubt tougher and more badass than Boba Fett. Second of all, there is far more potential for voice lines with the Mandalorian. Third of all, Grogu. The rest of the DLC fighters, I just thought they would be cool. Especially Luz. Oh, that Owl House finale...

Anything else I missed? Oh right, the designs! Mickey has his appearance from the current Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts. Donald, Scrooge, Darkwing Duck, and the triplets all look like they did in the 2017 Ducktales reboot, naturally. And Goofy? He's just Goofy. I could've used the Goofy from that one episode of Ducktales with the sitcom genie, but that Goofy is too goofy even for Goofy. Sora, as always, has his appearance from his most recent game; Kingdom Hearts 3. Hard to believe that boy has a fourth game along the way already. Well, fifteenth. Oh, and you know that Sora would've been the main character in World of Light!

By the way, that Thanos render is from SilvaGunner's King For A Day tournament. When else am I gonna get the chance to make a Silvagunner reference while talking about fighting games?
