"This world ain't big enough for the two of us..."There are so many sites/complaints that bitch on Simba being a copy of Kimba. If you must get angry, be angry with Disney for not giving Osamu Tezuka any credit. But why hate on TLK itself? Ripoff or not, it's a kick ass movie! I guess this piece reflects the fans that are for Kimba vs. the fans that are for The Lion King. Keep in mind, this is strictly a joke. I'm a big fan of TLK, but I do still want to see some of Kimba, The White Lion. (or Leo, the Lion) Even when that happens, I'm not turning my back on Simba. Later, I will make a picture of the two lions getting along just fine, the way that I wish Kimba and Simba fans would. I'm not here to bash one and claim the other as the 'victor/original'. I'm here to celebrate the existence of both movies/shows/characters.
BTW, Simba is Swahili for 'lion', not a ripoff of the name 'Kimba'.

Osamu, the person who made Astro Boy, made Kimba the White Lion. He made this before Lion King.

Yeah; I have to admit, had it not been for Simba, I would have never known (therefore, become interested in) about Kimba. In a weird way, one ended up shining a light on the other.

yeah, but still I just want people to know that The Lion King was actually made in honer of the Kimba The White Lion series soon after the creator of Kimba died because the creator and walt disney where actually good friends. but you are right, it does sorta tell others about kimba

There is an anime show and movie based on a white lion named Kimba. Though the movie and the tv show are nothing alike, the movie and The Lion King have so many similarities to the point where it caused controversy.

I've seen them both, and love them both! Yes, I do not like the lack a credit to Osamu Tezuka, But that isn't gonna make me hate Simba and TLK. The only thing is, JEL movie made me cry, and TLK did not XD

I remember Kimba used to be on the end of my Pokemon VHS. It was only a comercial so I've never actually watched it.

I saw jungle emperor leo. Probably not the same as Kimba the white lion but it's the prequal, I haven't really seen kimba but I've seen the lion king. Whats all the fuss about? is the story completely the same? In J.E.L. there was a bunch of people as the side characters while in simba there are none, what is the lion king copying?

It goes even further when you add in that fact that TLK reminds many of the play Hamlet (and even TLK 2 looks like Romeo and Juliet). Even further than that, it's said that Tezuka was also a Disney fan who liked the movie Bambi, which also has a similar storyline to TLK. The arguements/debates go all over the place!

First Of all Kimba actually was created first so there for Simba is a copy of Kimba. Second of all I don't think they would be fighting agaiast each other, they would be helping each other.

I think you might have missed the point of the picture. I stated that it shouldn't just be about who copied who, but the fact that The Lion King is still an awesome movie. I hate that there are people who are trying to get others to hate TLK because of the existence of Kimba. If a person doesn't like Disney for what was done, then they don't have to, but the movie itself still rocks. If anything, had TLK not existed, I wouldn't have known about Kimba; the fact that one became more popular than the other opened my eyes and curiosity to Kimba. Besides, if we're doing the 'who copied who' thing, you could technically say that both copied Hamlet (and even Bambi) to a certain degree. Secondly, they aren't fighting here.

In other words, if people want or think that the two lions should get along, they (the fans of each lion) might try to get along first.

I've never heard of Kimba xD but I read a book called kimba (not this Kimba) so that guy took the name aswell. And the similar name thing, Simba means lion in African so....soughta makes it obvious for why they named him Simba xD

I've heard of Kimba, just never thought to check in on it. So I went on Youtube and typed it in, watched some, and so far it's nothing like the Lion King. The Lion King doesn't even have humans in it. It could change. I'm only 2 minutes into it.
But, Simba stole my heart first, so Simba.
Loved that movie when I was a kid. Both the first and second. One of the only good Disney sequels.

One school friend of mine did a ABC powerpoint and on the letter K she put Kimba in there.I covered my eye's and saw him for a split second I knew it was him!Also Animation Lookback on Disney sent me here to look Kimba up on DA!

I heard a lot of movies of LK being a copy of Kimba.... but it was still an amazing movie...and I don't consider it to be a copy...Disney just used Kimba as a springboard! (XD ignore me please)
