A little tutorial for you all~!!Yes, gradient in MS Paint. >u<
If there's anything you don't understand, just ask me, and I'll explain it as best as I can.

((I figured it out! You make it like..a specific percent opaque on GIMp and put it over your thingy that you want to be gradiented. XD))

this helps alot! thank you~ it works with most combinations, but colors on the opposite side of the color wheel from eachother don't work. :C (like green and red.)

If the width's more than 100 pixels you get an effect instead of a gradient but it looks awesome too!

You go to Image >> Stretch/Skew and put the horizontal to 500%... You repeat that until you like the size...
