When I try this I get to the second xform and following the rules exactly I get a blank preview once I change the weight to 15.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

A style I am familiar with already, but a great refresh since I haven't been in apo in ages. Thanks!

I am ashamed to admit I am slightly confused by what you meant on Transform 3, "move it up and size them with a 1:3 ratio"? Please and Thank You

SaTaNiA In reply to AuraBorealis [2011-02-04 14:40:53 +0000 UTC]
For the ration it means that your X size should be 3 time smaller than your Y size
So if Y=1 X=0.33333 and to move it up just put it 1step up

forgive me, i could not understand part 'scale down 1 by 100' i fiddled about in the triangle tab but nothing worked and i do not have an option labeled for scaling that i can see
also, is post transform the same as post triangle? it was the only similarly labeld thing of that sort too, i am using the apo 2.09 jk version

SaTaNiA In reply to tenchibaka [2011-01-11 22:39:33 +0000 UTC]
1) when you're on the transform box - triangle tab you have a little triangle as the 3rd line on the right part choose 100 on the drop down choices, and click one time on the reduce triangle on the left.
2) Yeah it's the blue triangle icon just before FX (post-transform)

Huge thanks for the tutorial! It was very useful.
I've used some tips from it in my The Gathering . Hope you don't mind.

@`SaTaNiA or anyone else that can help me. I'm having problems with setting the parameters and understanding parts of the tutorial.
How can I get my existing parameters in text form so I can paste them here for someone to check? (see ~korrian comment on page 2) I was able to turn the flame into a script, but the text looks nothing like what ~korrian posted in his comment on page 2. Thanks for anyones input.

you only need to go on the edit tab on your flame and click on copy.
Then you paste them in a notepad and you will have the txt form of your params

Man I just cant get it right. I followed everything. Your and the examples you showed looked solid, whereas mine looks like made from particles and its not even well filled it has all big gaps it looks bad
But your tutorial is very very very awesome! Thanks a lot

Oh, found it. But i dont understand xform4, how do i ratio it? and what do the post transforms do? i dont kmow how i can make other fractals with this tut
π: 0 β©: 1
SaTaNiA In reply to owenbalfe [2010-12-07 17:13:55 +0000 UTC]
You can create a ratio by using the tab : Transform and let's 1 on Y and put 0.3 on X
The post transform mainly says to the variation where it should be place
