Description
Date: 9/27/18 - 9/28/18Artist's Notes: The last drawing got me in the mood for some Paleozoic paleoart. Diadectes was one of the first terrestrial animals to reach a large size and one of the first herbivorous vertebrates. It's so strange to think of a world in which the major herbivores were amphibians.

This is a most lifelike illustration (one likes the sense of heft it gives the creature), but something about that plumpness and the "horizon line" on this beastie's side makes me think of a stuffed toy!

Yeah, this guy was pretty plump and squat, I imagine it would have been very strange to see these guys wallowing around in the Permian swamps.

Doubtless there would be plenty of other oddities in the Swamps of Deep Time too!

Another Pineal Eye
I love the ridges on the back, gives it a more rough appearance

Thanks, this guy had a pretty big pinela eye and a pretty tall vertebal column.
