Description WARNING: FULLSIZE IS HUGE!!!

Please download a PATTERN here: [link]

This tutorial can be used for making human-size boots too, with some changes to the process:
1. No wire in the soles, of course.
2. Leather for all parts should be much thicker than for dolls.
3. Use stiff and strong leather for the outer soles. Make low heels (I recommend not more than 3 cm high) because higher heels require special soles.

Enjoy!
If something is unclear please ask me in comments.

Your pattern is amazing, thank you for sharing it with us!
I create my first doll and your boots are like his boots. If it was created for him (the doll).. Thank you again, even the 8 cm size is just perfect for the doll's size. I am sooooo happy now!:

These were made in 2008.

I still have a feeling that it's a major misunderstanding...

This is the nicest boot pattern I have seen! I'm glad you're continuing to make it available.  I made Victorian style MSD boots with this and could absolutely not have done it without your help.  Thank you!

I'm not surprised)) Definitely, you're a good self-learner, congrats!
Me too, an did you know I have a MD degree in setting up a shoe factory? So I\m familiar with shoemaking technologies, and more - I made shoes for myself when I was actively in LARP. So the things you may learn from my tutorials are applicamle to a human-size shoes too ^_^

Hey, in the future, would you be interested in a pattern exchange? I often create sewing patterns my self but I don't always upload them for fear of competition, art theft or simply not having created a proper manual/guide/turorial for the ones i do share. But I wouldn't mind sharing them with you once some of them re competed and fully digitized. It'd be cool to see how some of your dolls look with these wears on them.

scargeear In reply to Nakumah [2014-12-27 12:09:34 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for your generous offer, but I never used doll patterns from others, and I'm unlikely to do this. If the pattern is made for another BJD body type it needs an adjustment, so it's easier for me to create a basic pattern for a certain doll once and to modify it later.
Also, I'm very unlikely to sew clothes that already were made by someone. I always combine styles, features and decorations and come out with my own versions.

Fear of competition? WTF, really? The more patterns - the better. Nobody dared to accuse me of stealing their patterns, and I don't bother with mine to be stolen, as the original pattern source is publicly available.

yeah, it's happened. didn't mean to offend, if it came out that way. I have seen not just my but other people's hard work show up somewhere else claimed by a different person altogether. While we might posses the original they will be able to keep copyright and what not because they got to a lawyer first. Not just in patterns. Patterns aren't that big of a deal, as you pointed out. After all there are millions of patterns out there that are similar to the next. But still. Be it a pattern or a book novel, credit should go where credit is due. Like shoes and their patterns.

As for competition, there's always competition. No one can stop that. Everyone knows that. That's why it's a challenge to, well, compete. The fear of competition is the same basic fear most share. You created somthing. You show what you made and how to make it. Someone uses it then suddenly you're in a void since. That's also happened. More times than not, it happened permanently on certain things. Sometimes it's inevitable. But I'd rather it happen eventually than immediately. It's not that I don't like sharing. I'm told I share too much too cheaply already all the time. But there's just some secrets we don't share randomly. That's all I meant.

Sorry if I sounded like an ass.

No offend here))
If the person takes my patern, goes to the lawyer and tries to receive a copyright I could claim it as mine in a blink)) That's because I have the publication date of my pattern on the open source (dA) much earlier than that person, see? Looks like you just aren't too familiar with a copyright rules. So absolutely no problem here, and actually I become PROTECTED by publishing the pattern on dA.

If people steal the art and sell it in a place I even don't aware of it's not a direct revenue loss, it's called a missed profit and is a totally another thing. It's still a copyright violation but not as harmful as it could be.
