The stars appear to be sewn on... what vintage is this flag, if you know? I have one similar, and have never seen another until now. Found mine at a yard sale, I don't know its history. ;/

yes this is one of the older flags that isnt made of nylon, this isnt really an all weather flag, more like the ones that are presented at funerals.

They can vary depending on which company makes them.

It's a beautiful thing... I think we take it for granted... way too much.

*Sighs* Whenever I see a flag like that I think of a Burial at Sea.
Not saying its bad, just invokes these very sad and poetic moments when Sailors take a moment out to send to the sea on last time a shipmate.
*Salutes*

Although I am not an American and havn't lived there since I was 6 and that I am not particully fond of America for going to war BUT I would like to say that I really like this photo. I love the folds in the flag and the colour is briliant.
God Bless America

I just have to thank you for this sir! I am in the U.S. Army and seeing this has really made my holiday weekend! I will be showing this to all who will be attending the Memorial Day party we have going this Monday, even my superiors. Thanks again for this wonderful gift!

Hi there, thanks for your comment, I am truely touched by what you said, thank you. As a friend just commented to me, I may be English by birth, but American by choice.
I am envolved with the 100th Bomb Group Foundation, one of many remaining WWII veterans organizations that is still going. The 100th Bomb Group USAAF flew from Thorpe Abbotts in England during WWII in B-17's over Germany. It is important this weekend we remember the Greatest Generation, those past and present that continue to serve and have sacrificed to give us freedom.
I love your country, and your flag, and I don't give a damn how unpopular that makes me.
And thank you for your service to your country.
God Bless America.
