No way. No fucking way. I'm in shock. I think it's a long time when I spend eight hours on a piece, but this is just totally phenominal.

You are at least the third best artist I've seen on this whole site. Ever.

Simply astounding, my friend. Simply astounding.

I will! Though it's really easy to glean inspiration from all of the wonderful artists and drawers here on dA, sometimes it's discouraging...I mean, they're all so much better than me. >.< I'm impatient, you see. I want to be as good as them -- now. Unfortunately, it'll take years of practice...sometimes I like to use the excuse that they're a lot older than me, but then I find people like you and jessie145 and I totally lose that excuse. But I'll keep trying!

SandraHultsved In reply to ScottDPenman [2006-08-09 14:22:52 +0000 UTC]

yes, I understand what you mean. but you're not so bad, I'm actually jealous at you..
but hey, have you checked my gallery,my newest deviation? that's how I have developed over only one year I've been here on DA. so yes, you really get inpired here of all the talented people around..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScottDPenman In reply to SandraHultsved [2006-08-09 14:26:11 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I just saw that one! Pretty amazing. My gallery doesn't really have that kind of thing...I just sort of...jumped into big drawings. o.O I think, for my next one, I'm going to find a really good photo of skin -- I think a big problem with the photos I have is that they're not good quality. >.< Seeing as I can't draw anything out of my head, I draw EXACTLY what I see in the photo reference, so the better the reference, the better the drawing, right? So I'm going to try and get a picture that shows detail down to the pores in the skin...inspiration came from nimra's drawings, of course.

SandraHultsved In reply to ScottDPenman [2006-08-09 14:44:26 +0000 UTC]

yes, that's true, a good reference makes a better drawing.. I'm trying to get better at drawing more on free hand.
ah, I just thougth so, he has really amazing drawings. I also get so inspired by him sometimes, but I don't think a dare to try drawing like that. but I really enjoy drawing a lot of details in the eyes^^
thanks for watch btw

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScottDPenman In reply to SandraHultsved [2006-08-09 14:48:01 +0000 UTC]

Sure thing -- thank you!

Yeah, eyes really interest me...unfortunately, the two reference pics I've used so far haven't had good detail in the eyes at all, but I'm going to try and implement that in the next drawing (I think it'll be the next one anyway).

I also wish I could draw faster. It seems people belt out drawings every couple weeks and yet they take me about 6 months. That's something I'll be working on, though...just knuckling down and forcing myself to draw for like 12 hours straight...

SandraHultsved In reply to ScottDPenman [2006-08-09 15:01:59 +0000 UTC]

okay, that will be interesting to see
yes, 6 months seem a little long time, I usually do one a week, that one I'm working on now am I actually counting how long it takes. I'm up in about more then 8 hours now..
