Description
Day 2 of 10 days of ocean/seascape photography to commemorate the official end of summer! This is from Nafpaktos, Greece! It borders the Gulf of Corinth of the Mediterranean Sea. There's quite a contrast from the orange rooftops and the blue sea huh? This picture was taken late in the afternoon and the colors were very vibrant. You can even see the remains of a fortress near the center (and in general while we explored, there were many traces from the Ottoman era still remaining).

Wait, why am I the first comment on this? And I'm so late! More work for ye! Hehehehe. There is quite a contrast between the rooftops and the blue sea! Such a vacation photo! In actuality, nice job editing this to bring about that sharp contrast and the clean lines. Actually, there are really clean lines as it seems you've probably sharpened up quite a bit as well right? I think those mountains are behind my house!

First comment go! Congratulations! You win an abdominal poke in slow motion, and you're going to love it!
I actually didn't sharpen this picture, and desharpened it! (That said, I think Blogstomp resharpens it slightly automatically when it puts my watermark in). In the original, the edges were way too sharp and it was so heavily contrasty it looked like I glued some stock images together poorly. Part of it is because I took it at a bad time- late afternoon with very harsh lighting and shadows (yay Mediterranean sunsets!) and no matter what I did with the houses, they just looked really weird. The main thing that was edited as you know is increasing exposure a bit (so the lighting looks closer to early afternoon), trying to make the picture a little less orangey miasma'd, and then greenifying the hills in the back so they didn't disappear. Oh and cropping the photo. The alternative was to extra orangefy everything to give it sunset colors, but it just didn't look nice. But I guess in the end, I like that it's a "different" looking photo than the other seascapes, especially since it was just naturally sharp and contrasty! And these mountains are definitely behind your house! That's where I took this photo! I tied a selfie-stick to HandsRooster who flew up to the heavens and snapped this for me. Alas in the process, some of the hands fell off, which is why HandsRooster is missing some now...
