This has to be the most simplified tutorial on planet making I've ever read. XD I think I can get a similar effect in GIMP with its distorts, so I can't wait to try this after I paint my own textures, thanks. X3

well i must say the technique is cool and the effort is well done but yet the result isnt that convincing because the black spots seems odd under exterior light aka sun

thank you, and there are ways you could eliminate that issue, my tutorial is very flexible.

I decided on a whim to try this out... This's what I came out with: [link]

I'm a bit sad none of my planets ended up anywhere near so awesome as your example, but oh well. I'll keep trying! And thank you so much for the helpful tutorial. Wouldn't have known what the hell I was doing without it

i did kind of fly through making the tut, so if you find where its going wrong, but cant figure it out, let me know, and ill help you with it.
its totally possible that i may have left something out myself.

Tried it yesterday with a texture but it had to much detail then I did a clouds /different clouds thing and still not happy with my result.
you have taught me thing I did not use in this tut so thanx already the tut is smooth and easy to follow well done its fantastic.

thank you, and im sorry you couldnt get a good result. i have a texture uploaded here [link] that is similar to the one i used for the tut, if youd like to give it another go using it instead.
