I've been quarantined to my bedroom since every member of my family is systematically sick. Gave me time to attempt a drawing devoid of lineart, which resulted in this painterly attempt at something absolutely epic.
I adored seeing Wreck-it Ralph clear back in Nov. for my birthday.
I'm in love with the premise, and thought it was beautifully executed.
My only complaint is not enough Calhoun and too much Sugar Rush XDDD
That aside It was a wonderful movie, and thankfully Disney made it cause their all about them happy endings.

I do have a queastion, though. Β Since the Cybugs are in Calhoun's game, if she got eaten wouldn't she just return to her normal self when the game restarts?

That was a very wise move. Β You also did a fantastic job on cybug Calhoun, using the red in her uniform as the color of her wings. Β She looks so distressed! Β I wonder how much that transformation would affect the character's personality. Β I mean, we only saw it happen to Turbo, who was already evil. Β But if a cybug becomes what it eats would the changes be mostly physical or would it be deeper, having a cybug heart and mind, but only LOOKING like the character?

The wings were one of the major driving points in drawing this so I wanted them to stand out.
As for how badly it would effect her personality... I guess even I have my devious limits..
I kept her recently turned in the image so there would be clear humanity within her when Felix was forced to face her.
I never even considered what would happen if he chose to let her go and 'she' was not longer in there...

They are very impressive, I even love that they look pretty beat up. Β Makes me wonder if she's had others chasing her too. Β And I can't express enough how much I love the lighting. Β You've only got two real light sources here; those glowing red wings and Felix's Β hammer...and the red light is certainly the stronger.

Very nice, best Cy-bug Calhoun I have seen yet. And the first to have Felix interacting. Love how you depict him in the foreground. The hammer looks awesome, it looks like some epic magic going on there; contrasting perfectly with the dark and dreariness of the rest.
Though I have to wonder, if the Cy-Bugs are a virus corrupting programs, wouldn't Felix actually be able to fix it with his hammer?
I have had plans for awhile now to do WiR oneshot on fanfiction.net with Cy-Bu Calhoun. The idea being that Cy-Bug Calhoun is the unlockable final boss in Hero's Duty. A secret Calhoun keeps from her friends as he hates her game forcing her into that role; ending with her either being killed by player or the beacon.
If I do ever get around to writing it could I use this as a cover?

My original intent behind this image was exactly that-Calhoun becoming the players final boss as part of the games inherent storyline.
I loved this mostly because of the duality of her role as the gamers guide.
She is leading them safely through, even though success ultimately spells her demise.

An artist should smile at their audience's tears when they make a piece like this. It means they did things right.
Also, I know why he can't fix it if Cy-bug Calhoun is an unlockable final boss. Because it's programming, and you can't mess with the program. If it's meant to happen, it can't be rectified. In a sick, twisted way, it's already fixed.
