The Wavecrest-class Frigate designed by th Givin of Yag'Dhul in the Yag'Dhul Shipyards during the Separatist Crisis and Clone Wars in 22 BBY was a warship designed as a frigate, patrol ship and escort. It partook as a Separatist warship throughout some major theaters and operations of the Clone Wars, like the Confederacy of Independent Systems Operation Durge's Lance, partook in the Battle of Duro and alongside the Geonosian Dreadnoughts and Banking Clan Munificent-class Star Frigates patrolled the Corellian Trade Spine. Not only that, when Givin combat engineers towed asteroid bodies to endanger formerly safe hyperspace travel trough the Corellian Trade Spine. That way they created a maze in hyperspace against Republic and later Imperial offensives against Separatist territories. Ships like the Wavecrests and Givin astrogaton calculation made in 12th-degree hyperometry and Helrossi-principal Octratics equations allow the Separatist to still use these routes nearly as quickly as normal, while they were no longer passable for Republic/ Imperial forces, even for years and sometimes decades after the Outer Rim Sieges, or overall Clone Wars Holdouts/ Remnants. The Wavecrest-class itself had a length of 400 meters, was driving trough hyperspace by a class 1.0 hyperdrive, with a backup class 9,0 hyperdrive as their main hyperdrive system. The had a standard armaments of 8 Dual turbolaser cannons, 16 turbolaser cannons, 18 laser cannons, 8 Proton torpedo tubes, 16 torpedoes, as well as 3 shuttles and either one Starfigther squadrons or two Vulture-class droid starfighter squadrons. These ships had a maximum of around 2,400 to 2,500 organic or battle droid crew members, as well as 500 passengers, but could also operate on a partially lower crew of around 300 to 400 battle droid and organic crew members. Even with one fully crewed, it had consumable to operate a whole year. Thanks to this several Wavecrest-class Frigate, sometimes operating alone, alongside other Wavecrest-class frigate, Geonosian Dreadnoughts and Banking Clan Munificent-class Star Frigates would also use their expert Givin astrogators to operate deep behind enemy lines, raiding Republic/ Imperial Hyperspace routes.

Because of that several Wavecrest-class Frigates, Geonosian Dreadnoughts and Banking Clan Munificent-class Star Frigates alike would also have special versions, often crew individualized ones, fine-tuned to operate longer behind enemy lines, as blockade runners and smugglers to aid cut off separatists worlds to be resupplied, or worst chase evacuated, while at the same time some served as raiders and space pirates, striking unsuspected and hard even in formerly believed to be safe, or even unknown Republic/ Imperial hyperspace lanes which was why the various Republic/ Imperial reinforcements and supply lines to the Rim and later especially the Outer Rim Sieges would be suffering more and more the longer their routes from the Core and Colony Worlds would take. This way Wavecrest-class Frigates served the Separatist Alliance, the Confederacy of Independent Systems in more ways then one, not only to defend their own separatist worlds, systems and sectors, but to strike far behind the Republic/ Imperial lines, striking fear into the hearts and minds of the Republicans and Imperials, especially in areas and regions, of their worlds, systems and sectors the Republic/ Empire and the locals believed to be save. Because of that Separatist smugglers, raiders, bandits and space pirates liked to strike at such easy targets, especially as they knew this would force the Republicans/ Imperials to relocate many of their offensive fleets to conquer and retake Separatist worlds, systems and sectors to protect their own hyperlane trade routes, worlds, systems and sectors, which then could no longer be used offensive against the Separatists, making the Confederacy of Independent Systems much more securer. Even more so when comparing their relatively few ships manages to tie down and bind so many Republican/ Imperial ships and fleets in comparison to their defensive fleets in Separatist worlds, systems and sectors, or the equal massive reserve armadas hold back in the Rim. Therefore many Wavecrest-class Frigates space pirate captains, raiders and smugglers became beloved, famous Confederate/ Separatist war heroes, even if they broke several laws of Hyperspace Warfare Acts and Laws of the Galactic Republic trough their ambushes, raids and attacks.
