Description

ULTIMATE DISCLAIMER OF ULTIMATE DESTINY: In case that first panel up there is still too small to see, remember to smash that Download button to see this strip at full size. DeviantART is still being annoying , and although I’ve been assured that the issue has been kicked over to tech support, downloading is currently the only way to read my comics without a microscope (sometimes it takes a minute, but as of this posting it still does the job). Apologies once again for the inconvenience.

~

Then it all crashes down, and you break your crown, and you point your finger but there’s no one around. Just want one thing, just to play the king, but the castle’s crumbled and you’re left with just a name.

Woohoo, we’re back to the main story arc after only a month and a half of waiting! I planned to have this up a lot sooner, but between dA being a butt (see above) and a brief battle with my sinuses, which are mostly better now, thanks for asking I’ve not been super motivated this month. Big, special thanks go to Evil-is-Relative and Wynnifredd for kicking my hiney back in gear, and most especially to the former for whipping up that little graphic at the top of the strip. Isn’t that the most adorable Shelob drawing you’ve ever seen? He’s so grumpeh!

Not much else to say about this one, I don't suppose. But don't touch that dial, folks! There's still more to come as we enter the denouement of The Trouble with Skyrim: Running the Asylum. See you then!

~

Ten thousand years in the Cave of Wonders ought to chill Ulfric ou—wait, no, I promised I wouldn't do that.

With Shelob's luck, Ulfric would find a way to reconstitute himself Dr. Manhattan-style and cause even more headache.

Shelob had better not propose hiding that lamp inside a giant sand tiger in the Alik'r or who knows what will happen next...

Awesome to have you back, man! Hope dA resolves its goofy self soon

Or in Shelob's case, maybe not so much, but don't tell Telki that.

"Phenomenal despotic powers ..." - Lol! The moment I read that, I knew what Shelob would say next. I wonder what it's like inside that lamp? If I were Ulfric, I'd be banging against the walls of my prison, making the lamp "dance" while everyone heard my screams of rage.

I've had similar size problems with my comics too.

Sir-Douglas-of-Fir In reply to the-exiled-muse [2018-11-20 18:50:05 +0000 UTC]

It's probably one of those extradimensional type containers that are endlessly vast on the inside and tiny on the outside. That said, I get a pretty big kick out of imagining Ulfric crammed in there like an overlarge sardine.

I recommend reporting it to the help desk if you haven't already. Maybe they'll be tempted to address the issue sooner if they see multiple people having it.

the-exiled-muse In reply to Sir-Douglas-of-Fir [2018-11-20 22:36:03 +0000 UTC]

Even if the lamp is spacious inside, I still believe Ulfric is cursing, screaming, and Shouting to get out loudly enough to be heard outside. Which leads to the mental image of Shelob wrapping the lamp in a blanket and locking it in a chest so he can sleep at night (at least until he figures out a more permanent solution).

It's probably because I have been watching history documentaries and series lately, but I see Tiber Septim less as an asshole and more of a complicated figure.
Genghis Khan, Hannibal, and Shaka Zulu were very effective leaders who did both great things and terrible things. They weren't saints, but they changed the world in ways that are still being felt today. I see Tiber Septim in a similar way.

Sir-Douglas-of-Fir In reply to the-exiled-muse [2018-11-21 02:20:52 +0000 UTC]

Now there's an image I can get behind.

I don't necessarily disagree with you there. I'm a well-known Empire lover, so naturally I do think that the changes Tiber Septim affected on the world were a net positive. But the road to a united continent was paved in a river of blood, and I do feel it's important for the Empire to remember and hold itself to account for the atrocities that helped birth it. For the sake of fairness, though, Tyr's backstory in particular gives him a pretty solid reason to think of dear ol' Great-Grandpa Septim in pretty stark terms.

Wynnifredd In reply to the-exiled-muse [2018-11-21 00:24:55 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately, what I've found of history is that being an effective and remembered, leader requires a healthy helping of bleepishness. I understand that's the general meaning behind 'complicated' ~ he/she had nice moments, but could pull out the ***** when they felt the need for it *cough* markarth*cough*

the-exiled-muse In reply to Wynnifredd [2018-11-21 03:46:43 +0000 UTC]

I think you're both right. Look up Extra History's mini series on Genghis Khan on YouTube. You'll see what I mean when I compare Tiber Septim to him. Khan united the Mongolians into an empire, but he did it by climbing over a mountain of skulls.

I almost thought that new episode will never come, and then here you go ending the bossfight. I hope we don't have to wait so much for the next episode. And since you did upload a new episode, I am hereby doing what I told Conn I would do when you make a new episode. Ask for a face reveal! Pretty please.

Oh, no worries. Considering the kinds of hiatuses I used to go on in my early years, this was nothin'.

A face reveal, huh? Kind of an unusual request, but I think I can roll with it. media.giphy.com/media/TSQUe1nP…
