i looked at my old manipulation tutorial and felt like it was a bit old so i decided to make this. 8D
omgomgomg. D: gimp died. right when i was about to do the finishing touches. that just fails. so there's no final image or anything. Just. a tutorial. >_>
and not even a complete one. I'm so sorry, guys.

I use sumo paint and I have Gimp but sometimes it just gets really.....weird and doesn't work DX Definitely will try

Yes, Thats what I do. When It comes up and l hit the foldler nothing shows up in it through GIMP

It might not be the right format, is it a jpg, png, gif, tiff, psd, etc?

Nice tutorial, I like to add a shadows almost all the time when doing photomanipulations.
It can help to blend things in and hide other thing that are undesirable. Also it can add a more realistic look to the image when placed correctly. How you do the eye's gives the horse a very striking look.

Haha. The eyes look strange up close, but once you zoom out, they look pretty nice.
As for shadows, usually I apply shadows and highlights at the end, if there is a previously indicated light source, since those kinds of details may change throughout the course of the actual image.

i dont use gimp but still read it mainly because most things are the same basic tools and so i just like to see how you put things together.

Actually, I only make gimp tutorials since everyone wants them,. Nobody really cares about how i use photoshop to manipulate. xD
And because of all the notes and messages or whatever that I get requesting Gimp tutorials is kind of insane.

well i have photoshop elements, but i cant believe how many use gimp (though i suppose it is free) but i tried downloading it and failed majorly so now i use elements and just adjust peoples tutorials to suit me.

is there any chance you could talk me through tack removal with PS elements as i am aweful at it and cant find any tutorials that really help me get it right. (on the other hand it may be my patience that is the problem.)
