Description Some of you may be curious what my present tech for doing digital colours is.

Yes, This is it. It's a very simplistic style but it does give results.

I developed it due to the need for some quality as well as the need to do art reasonably quickly. Also the fact I use blacks and whites to shade simplifies matters for me as I'm actually partially colour blind

Yes, I have a certificate on that.

So yes, I developed this technique myself over the years and so finally I decide to do a pic and post my most updated technique to date.

The kicker?
This tutorial is not really created for you guys....
It's posted for me in case I forget how to do digital art

Feel free to try it out if you want. I'd be curious to see what results you get.

@.@
No wonder my digital art looks purely amateur hour, I'm so confused.
I have absolutely no idea what at least 1/4 of those words meant.

I guess this means I should get off my @$$ and draw something so I can try this out...
I wonder if this will still work in GIMP.
I recognized a lot of the tools but I have no idea about some of it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snowfyre In reply to misora-hunter [2012-02-16 03:46:46 +0000 UTC]

it works. if you find the equivalent tool.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

misora-hunter In reply to Snowfyre [2012-02-16 07:18:11 +0000 UTC]

The tools aren't a problem, I see all the different brushes you used. It's stuff like that loop tool that eliminates areas not colored in and such that I'm not sure if GIMP has

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snowfyre In reply to misora-hunter [2012-02-16 14:02:56 +0000 UTC]

magic wand tool.
GIMP has something like that.
As for the brushes. gimp has it too you just need to download the brush in.

misora-hunter In reply to Snowfyre [2012-02-16 23:17:32 +0000 UTC]

I recognized the brushes, even used the one you use for fur detailing as the spots on my wings in the Commissions picture.
Magic Wand Tool... I'll look for that, thanks.

Snowfyre In reply to misora-hunter [2012-02-16 23:19:48 +0000 UTC]

should have some sort of equivalent on GIMP.

Better than what I can do. Better than what most can do. So that still makes it pretty good, even if it's not the best.

misora-hunter In reply to Maddog3060 [2012-02-15 18:46:51 +0000 UTC]

You said it.
At the most, you might play around with fonts and margins to try and give the piece a look, but DA throws that right out the window anyway.

Maddog3060 In reply to misora-hunter [2012-02-15 19:20:29 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. Still, there is an art to wordsmithing that I enjoy. Lazily, but I do enjoy it.
