That's a good point. How many times have we killed the fucker?

Killed or just defeated?
The 2D games give the impression that we really blow him up each time, but I suppose that's not accurate.
The real Ridley has been defeated 5 times I think, not counting the X-parasite or the clone. His true death would probably be in Super Metroid.

I lost count at 14. But killed? I've only played the Primes, but in that alone, I killed him 3 times! (Twice in MP3C!)

Nothing says Ridley died in any of those battles.
Sure, he might end up badly wounded, but killed seems like an overstatement.

... He blew up in Prime. And disintegrated in Corruption.

He got blasted and fell into the crater in Prime one. I never saw him blow up.
The Meta Ridley fight in free-fall just got interrupted. He might've just flown back up or something.
Omega Ridley supposedly disintegrated in Corruption but he's back in Super (somehow), so I'm gonna go with him surviving yet another time.
When Omega Ridley is beaten, he starts shining brightly, then (apparently) blows up releasing Phazon. Afterwards, there's just a power-up in place.
If his non-death is gonna be justifiable, then perhaps the left-overs of him got tossed aside by the Phazon detonating.
(But then again, it's a game and death is cheap)

OK, we leave it at this; He died at some point, cause the normal Ridley is apparently a clone.

By normal you mean?
I know that he is a clone in Other M, but I believe he was the original one up and till Super Metroid.

Because he has been shown to blow up, go Xenomorph on a bird, and disintegrate, you haft to assume that Ridley is either a clone or immortal. If you mean which ones the clone forward, I'd say he died in Prime.

I don't see any cannibalism here. Just a crazy scientist experimenting by dismembering bodies.

How true. Every time Samus blows the guy up, he comes right back...
I've always wanted to believe that loveable space gargoyle was intelligent and as evil as he was ingenious, but after this many resurrections, he can't be too brainy.

He's my favorite villain to the point that I don't care how he comes back.
Just as long as he makes a return and I get to fight him, I'd be happy.
Although, adding depth always makes it more enjoyable to see him.

True. Either British or German I think. With a bit of a sibilant hiss, but a resonant, Saruman type voice.

He looks pretty organic back in Super Metroid.
I wonder what kind of beauty agent he's using...

Well, the approach to them was something like 'too cute and silly to be taken seriously'.
I suppose it worked out just fine. Because... do they LOOK like a threat to the galaxy?

I can't stand that part of Prime 3. They had the perfect opportunity to show how he comes back for Super, but no. Just make him poof into smoke. At least the first game/Zero Mission has the excuse of graphical limitations.

Sol-Zephyr In reply to warahi [2013-01-10 12:00:00 +0000 UTC]
Maybe Prime 3 wants to excuse itself with graphical limitations for not being on a PS3?
I bet the space pirates has a cloning program. Or... maybe Meta/Omega Ridley was just Mecha Ridley all along acting as a decoy and Ridley stayed underground to recuperate for his return in Super Metroid.
...
Why does that sounds so plausible...

Rikimaru50 In reply to Sol-Zephyr [2013-02-05 05:16:25 +0000 UTC]
well the Ridley in prime 3 was pumped with phazon energy and was overloaded with it so i can understand why he turned into tiny specs of dust that drifted away just like most of the other enemies in the game.

Sol-Zephyr In reply to Rikimaru50 [2013-02-11 09:18:51 +0000 UTC]
It sounds unlikely that Ridley would go about unscathed in the dispersing-manner as Dark Samus.
Dark Samus is the only one I remember doing so, being an entity of almost pure Phazon itself.
Ridley just seemed to be powered-up by Phazon.
You can only speculate at most...

The only time Ridley's been cloned so far is post-Super. Up until then he was always the same character. A clone is not, it's just a copy. Doesn't have the same mind or memories as the original or anything.

About the time they give him a humanoid-figure or Space hunter design with drago parts. But even then, that would be kind of cool looking. And it would be a lot of fuel for people to write fanfics about.
