Description I bet that the first time Samus went into Morph Ball-form when battling Quadraxis, this is what came into Quadraxis' mind.

I remember that when I reached the second part of the battle, I always aimed manually for the antennas. It wasn't until later that I learned that you could use the Echo Visor for auto-aiming.

However, the pic's been pencil drewn, inked and coloured with the usual colour pencils. Hope you like it and the idea.

What? Samus will beat Quadraxis anyways.

I never really found much reason to use the Morphball during Phase 1 of Quadraxis. All you had to do in Phase 1 is stay open, dodge everything it shoots at you, and pummel it in the knee-joints.

I only really had to use Morphball during Phase 3, when you have to ramp up the Magnet Rails on its battered legs and hit the open spots on its head, but in that Phase, its head is detached and its legs are far too damaged for you to kick you around in this manner, so it couldn't do that at the part when there is a use for the Morphball.

Yes, but once you destroyed all the knee-joints, you need to bust the red lights that appear within the feet.
That is usually done with the Boost Ball as in the same manner as against the normal Quad units to destroyed the leg section.
I don't recall if you had to use Boost Ball there or not though, but I did.
That's the part I'm referencing since I drew it with the lights lit.

I hated battling this thing. It was my worse nightmare, trying to hit it! I think I ahd it easier going up against Meteroid Prime!

Hexidextrous In reply to NeoStar10 [2013-10-10 23:42:02 +0000 UTC]

I actually liked it myself. It was tough but fun. The way you had to fire at its leg joints reminded me a lot of the Scarab Mech fights in Halo.

NeoStar10 In reply to Hexidextrous [2013-10-11 01:09:50 +0000 UTC]

That's true, at least. It was a boos that really made you think rather than simple point and shoot.

Hexidextrous In reply to NeoStar10 [2013-10-11 01:18:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes indeed. If you've seen how you fight the Scarabs in Halo, you would agree it is similar. Another boss fight that Quadraxis reminded me of is the massive Walker Aparoid in Star Fox Assault.

Then comes the part where its head detaches and starts levitating around while trying to regain connection. I dunno why, but that part reminded me of Eggman in his Egg Mobile from Sonic. Overall a very interesting and tough foe, not to mention one of the largest Metroid Bosses in the franchise (with some of the other biggest being Kraid and Mega-Phantoon).

Agreed, but my all-time least favorite boss of Metroid was the Spider Guardian in the Ing Fortress of Echoes.

Hexidextrous In reply to NeoStar10 [2013-10-11 01:32:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh god that little thing. Not only was it uninteresting and dull, but also annoyingly long. Having to avoid it as it runs across the Spider Ball maze and lay bombs at the right time. I also disliked the Spider Ball Guardian.

Oh, that thing was a pain as well. Also a pain was the Space Jump Guardian.

I don't think hitting it was a that big of a problem
unless you refrain from using the Echo Visor.
But yeah, it's one of the longer boss battles in the game.

It would suck to be Quadraxis if Samus learned on how to trip him with the grapple beam. Or if the Luminoth had thought: "Hey everybody, lets put grapple nodes in his feet, so the next person who comes along decades, or centuries, later can defeat him easier than the last person!" Yes, I know: I exaggerated.

Sol-Zephyr In reply to ARWINGx1 [2010-02-25 09:35:06 +0000 UTC]

Jag själv insåg aldrig att man kunde använda Echo Visor i striden.
Massa manual aim hela tiden, och det var i GC-versionen.

ARWINGx1 In reply to Sol-Zephyr [2010-03-08 21:17:09 +0000 UTC]

Just det!

Sol-Zephyr In reply to ARWINGx1 [2010-03-09 07:10:48 +0000 UTC]

Sentry Drone? Den går ju ner med en stråle Wave Buster, så den är inge större problem.

Så du försökte skjuta dess antenner när den var klar i huvudet?
Låter jobbigt.

Same here, I just used manual aiming. It worked, just a little harder though.
It became ridiculously easy with the Echo Visor.
