Description I apologize for the font used in these tutorials. I can't remember why I chose it in the first place but I kept using it so the tutorials would have some continuity in the form of layout.

People keep asking me how I make the cyberlox falls I have, so I decided to make a simple tutorial. Or at least it's simple to me. I hope this will help some of you and that the instructions are clear enough to understand. Explaining has never been my strongest asset.

If there's anything that needs clarification or if you want to know more, just ask!
If someone needs information on how to actually attach cyberlox on their hair, I can help with that aswell. I can also make a foam/dread falls tutorials if needed.

Sorry for the grammatical errors, I'm so knackered I can't be bothered correcting anything XD

You have to have hair long enough to get it at least on firm pig tails. I looked at your profile (found both accounts) and from the IDs I'd say your hair is long enough for wearing these but the hair might stick out through the cyberlox and some hair in the back might not make it to the pigtails at all, so you'd need lots of lox to cover it all. But give it a go! And if you're planning on wearing these occasional you could get a wig and use these falls with that (:

I faved this a while back but never commented. Silly me >.>

Anyway, I love this tutorial. It's straightforward and really lovely. I plan on making a pair of these to wear to the Steampunk Expo this summer <3

My only question is how do you tie them into your hair? Do you just put your hair up in pigtails and put these over them or what?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpookyLoop In reply to Anica-Starbell [2011-02-12 13:43:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's exactly how you tie them. People have been asking about it, so I'm thinking of making a tutorial on how to mount cyberlox/foam/dread falls but what you said is basically what it is.
Put your hair up on pigtails (if your hair is long put them up so that it creates a loop), you might need to use multiple hair bands or wider bands (the stiffer the base of the pigtail the better). And then just tie cyberlox on it, and make sure it is on firmly and in the base of the pigtail (:
I hope that makes even some sense, I just woke up so my mind isn't fully functional yet

Anica-Starbell In reply to SpookyLoop [2011-02-12 14:00:21 +0000 UTC]

That's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure. It makes perfect sense, don't worry. I'm probably gonna have to have my mum help me out, but that's fine XD
Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it <3

Alright, I feel super derp right now. I can't get my cyberlox to turn in on itself like the tutorial says to do. Is there any special trick to it, or am I just stupid?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpookyLoop In reply to Anica-Starbell [2011-02-17 18:56:26 +0000 UTC]

It should be really easy... How are you trying to do it? Cause it should just "slip" in.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Anica-Starbell In reply to SpookyLoop [2011-02-17 19:34:15 +0000 UTC]

Well first I tried to take my fingers on the edges and push it in, but that just resulted in one finger being stuck inside like a chinese finger trap >.>

I guess I'm just being derp, then. Thanks once more for the help, I'm sure I'll figure it out after a few more tries.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpookyLoop In reply to Anica-Starbell [2011-02-17 21:58:26 +0000 UTC]

That sounds about right, but try pushing it from about an inch from the edge. And don't worry, my fingers get stuck inside them all the time as well (and my friends' fingers... and strangers' who think I don't notice when they play with my hair)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Anica-Starbell In reply to SpookyLoop [2011-02-17 22:10:07 +0000 UTC]

I think I was pushing it too close, then. I'll try pushing it in further from the edge when I get home. Right now they're just sitting in little sewn together bunches, waiting to be tied to the hair ties I have XD

where did you get that corset? it's really nice

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpookyLoop In reply to musical-box [2010-12-22 07:39:40 +0000 UTC]

I bought it from a gothic store here in Finland but sadly they stopped selling it (which was incredibly stupid since everyone was buying them). The tricky part is, it doesn't have any kind of label from the manufacturer so I have no idea who makes them and therefore can't really look it up online or anything. But I think XtraX sells them online, so check their site. I also found a purple one from Paris, so I'm guessing you can find them anywhere and everywhere (:

I'm not a fan of these tube-falls, yet it was very interesting to see how they are made into tie-able hair pieces, as I kept wondering (I admit ).
Seems simple enough, thanks for sharing

I am curious... what is the ACTUAL intended purpose of this material? Is it decorative shielding of some sort? Like you use in computer cases to hide your cables and such?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

SpookyLoop In reply to Phaewryn [2010-11-02 10:27:22 +0000 UTC]

It's just for decorating. I think it bends and stretches too much to be a shield of any sort.
I honestly haven't seen it anywhere else than on someone's hair.
