Description
First and foremost, the original pencil drawing was done by and can be found here: [link]Lucia from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. While the original sketch is based off the RD model, her longer hair is more a PoR thing. Anyhow, not important - she's a swordmaster and sworn retainer to the Queen.
Painted in Photoshop with use of the good old smear tool. I can't thank that smear tool enough to help me in my blending - it's probably the most fabulous tool in the entire damn program.
Thanks to the original artist's sketching, a lot of the pencil shading that they did helped to add some additional definition to the colors that I added on top. You can tell that where there was less pencil shading it doesn't look as nice (most notably the majority of her hair). But elsewhere where there was plenty of shading I think it looks really nice.
Took probably about 3-4 hours, some cans of Mountain Dew and two tuna sandwiches to finish.
Now if only I could learn how to freehand draw as well as I can grid-reproduce and color with Photoshop maybe I'd consider myself somewhat of an artist. . .

She can't help it that she's a pre-promote.
In Radiant Dawn however if you give her a Paragon and baby her a bit, she can become pretty deadly. I used her on an female character only Endgame run and she held up pretty well.

i was talking about her in path of radiance not RD even then in RD she would be better in that game if you got to use her more also you get her so late in por to the point that i can list every single blade user better than her in por not RD.

Great job! I love how you maintained the proportions of her art from the game(s) but included your own touch also. This looks absolutely gorgeous. The way how you drew her face makes her look even more beautiful than usual.
It's shame that as a unit she isn't so great. Though with couple of boost items like Dracoshield, Energy drop etc and Adept skill she turns out to something extremely effective against all enemy units, though truebaldes with Adetp and good luck are killing machines anyway. I don't usually build characters around boost items but I just couldn't left her out from my Endgame team.

I've kind of been off Fire Emblem lately and on a big Final Fantasy kick, but I tend to go in cycles so I'm sure I'll be back on the FE bandwagon in a month or two.

Hmmm, hard to say. I really do like Blazing Sword and I do like how Radiant Dawn was set up, I just think the chapter execution was done poorly. I hope to see something like that come back in future installments though.

I played all the English FE games except for Radiant Dawn(but I will soon). I liked How you could create super-warriors in Sacred Stones, but the chapeters were a bit easy for me. I think Shadow Dragon needed more Master Seals and should have been longer. I do love the extra leveling up in Path of Radience, and I loved the one with Eliwood(but I think some levels were too hard and that there should have been easier ways to train).

Very nice drawing. Usually don't find very many, good hand done ones. (At least IMO, though not bad mouthing other's work.) Yours is just that good.

I just did the coloring on it - the actually drawing was done by someone else, as noted in the information.

Don't say you can't do it - that's what I said when I found a really nice Titania lineart. Then the person who drew it encouraged me to give it a shot, so I did and it turned out really great, see here ---> [link]
Trust me, it's easy enough that *I* can do it, anyone can. I encourage you to find a picture you like and give it a try. If you need some pointers, I can try to help you out.
Just find a lineart, duplicate the layer and set the new top layer to "Multiply" mode. Then just create new layers in between those two and paint. There are some good lineart tutorials around here on DA, you can just Google "color lineart photoshop" and some should come up.
Give it a shot, I'd love to see what you come up with!

No problem - I'd love to see what you come up with. You can do it if you try and take your time. And you'll get better at it the more you do it. I'm working on a project now that is blowing my mind on how nice it's looking so far.
Believing is half the battle. It's actually not as hard as you think it is once you get started on it.
And remember, smudge tool can be your best friend.
