Cool, thanks for the tutorials. They're really helping to correct some offs. But why are'nt all of them in 640*480? This video is so much clearer

I had to switch to my digital camera for the sake of speed. The other way was too much work.

I've been living a lie...

I thought the circle and cup method was the way to go...

Boy was I wrong!

One thing I like about your tuts is that your not all technical and shit. You teach while making jokes like the happy little tree and Demento bunny.

lmao @ "holy douche"... can't believe I haven't seen these before. I've watched a couple of em tonight and smacked my head a few times "so thats what I'm screwing up..." been about 10 years since I had a formal art class, and kinda lot the desire over the past few years due to.. well, life. Bought a nice book a few weeks ago "Dynamic Figure Drawing", pretty nice book, pretty detailed, but its "heres the finished product", I like your tutorials because it shows the actual steps taken. I look forward to watching the rest of the videos and can't wait for the new ones. Thanks

Would that be the sme for drawing a woman though..?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StevenSanchez In reply to ladylovey [2008-04-18 14:22:04 +0000 UTC]

Yes! Depending on what type of bulking character you illustrate the traps will be bigger or smaller. Have ref images with you so you don't feel like you're doing something wrong okay. Like the Sunday newspaper has tons of models or right here on DA looks for models and see the female form.

BenWolfson [2008-04-17 15:09:02 +0000 UTC]

Would I be anywhere close to correct if I assumed that when you drew a female head instead of male you have the chin drawn to a point and then rounded?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StevenSanchez In reply to BenWolfson [2008-04-17 15:37:37 +0000 UTC]

Some women have smaller chins, the way I draw them at times with a sharp ass point that can puncture a can is just style. But yes, small chin for chicks, thicker one for dudes, unless they're anime

BenWolfson In reply to StevenSanchez [2008-04-17 21:36:37 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Trying to break free of my old way of being taught. Tried sketching fronts today using your modified oval method and it seems to work quite well. I think it may be better for a piece I'd plan to finish than one I'd put a much greater deal of thought into.
