Final product of my example frames:

Even though it can be a pain, animating is probably one of my favourite parts of creating art. I remember that I had a hard time figuring out how to create and save animations in GIMP, so here's a tutorial for anyone that needs help! <3

I am probably using an old version of GIMP, so your layout may not look exactly the same, but these instructions should still work.

By the way, GIMP is a completely free program, and I personally use it for everything! You can learn more about GIMP and download it for free here .

Love the tutorial! I already animate using GIMP and I love it... like you said it took a bit but once you learn it is too fun seeing the end result

So much easier than using the free editors where you can't change the framespeed! I remember back in the day, stacking eight of the same frame on top of each other so I could have an 800ms pause before the animation, because each frame was 100ms by default and you couldn't change it. >>

This was the same time I used an online editor to make my images transparent ahaha

I'm so glad I discovered GIMP, since it can do it all!

Hmmm... I have not figured out how to do that part... I just stack frames
